Whilst our rides are open at various Christmas events, restoration work still continues on aspects of our steam fair.

This includes the the start of a full restoration of the 89 key Marenghi/Gaudin organ from our No2 Gallopers. The keyframe has been removed and sent to a specialist for full renovation and pipe work and other components taken out.
The rebuild will be extensive and will return this organ to the high standard that it once was. We will keep you all posted as progress is made.

Our No2 Lighthouse Helter Skelter has this week been dismantled and collected by us from Southend-on-Sea Adventure Island UK.

It will undergo a complete renovation before operating alongside our collection of traditional rides as part of our travelling vintage steam fair.

We are overjoyed to have now taken ownership of the 89key Marenghi/Gaudin organ from our pride of the south gallopers.

The organ is now safely back in our depot awaiting a rebuild, before it returns to the centre of the ride to entertain riders and bystanders with its popular choice or perforated music.

An update on the re-build of our 89 key Gavioli. Going back together now with most of the pipe work having been serviced, cleaned & re-decorated. The key frame has been fully overhauled, with most of the organ now back together. We can’t wait to hear it playing in the centre of our No1 Gallopers very soon.

Apologies for the lack of posts in recent months. But we promise to keep everyone updated on what updates and other improvements we have planned for the fast approaching 2023 season.

We’ll start with the no1 gallopers 89 key gavioli, which is currently having a complete overhaul.
The pictures below were taken in December so we’ll post some more recent ones soon so as you can all see the progress made.

🥥🥥The Coconut Shie🥥🥥

The origins of the game are unclear, but early references to it appear in the late 1800s. It probably derives from the game of Aunt Sally, with coconuts being seen as an exotic prize in the late 19th century and into the 20th century.

The newest addition to our vintage fair has arrived and will be available for events from next year.

Our Savage centre engine “John Bull” is back in place in the centre of our No1 Gallopers & has been busy powering the ride over the Jubilee bank holiday, with Howard in charge of proceedings.

The Organ engine is currently away for some T.L.C and will rejoin the ride & engine once work is completed.

Our Savage centre engine “John Bull” has passed its 10 year hydraulic & steam test, the engine is now being re-painted ready to power the ride for this coming season.

We have recently fitted a new row of outside quarterings to our No1 Gallopers, this now completes the work on the rides “top frame” which has seen all the wood & metal components renewed.

Apologies for not posting anything for a while, we have been busy preparing our rides for another busy season. We’ll be posting some updates of other work undertaken in the coming weeks.

But we’ll start with our Adult Chairoplanes, Big Wheel & Square Slip which are operating daily until 18th April on Felixstowe Seafront as part of the Easter Fair.

We had a new book delivered this morning, how many childhoods featured this well known song 💂🏼‍♂️💂🏼‍♂️💂🏼‍♂️

Shaping the new ironwork for the steps of our No2 Gallopers. Carefully heating the metal & bending in the forming jig that we made ensures that each one is the same.
