Continued from my previous post....

This is the result after trimming the stems and 5 hrs in fresh water.... found them super droopy this morning ....ain't nature amazing???

And the lesson...looks can be deceiving eh!! What may look dead and past it could still have life left in it!!

Boring fact.....The florists word for this is 'Turgid'

Turgidity is the state of being turgid or swollen, especially due to high fluid content. In a biological context, turgidity helps to explain how plant cells are able to stand upright despite the lack of a skeletal structural framework that animals have.

I was saving these flowers to take to lay at my Mum and Mother-in-laws gravesides tomorrow... but....I didn't realise they'd run out of water and this happened!!

As a little experiment I trimmed approx 3cm off each end and placed in fresh water...

Fast forward about 5 hrs and check out what happened....see my next post for results...how amazing is nature??
