A Monday night wedding in December? Why not? Here at this amazing venue in Worcestershire for the first time in around 8 or 9 years, and so much has changed.

Lol and Sammie’s guests really went for it for their first dance, and we had Ben Martin providing live Sax during the party too. What a night.

The Bishop's Cleeve Tithe Barn was the setting for Will and Hannah's wedding last night, and I was delighted to be able to provide the music for their evening party. ABBA was of course going down well, but everyone joined in to belt out "Sweet Caroline" in tribute to the Lionesses reaching the World Cup Semi-Finals earlier in the day.

The venue kindly let me play the famous "one more song", and the bride Hannah chose a tune she'd heard so many times before while working at my Hotel residency at Doubletree Hilton - my go-to finale - "New York, New York" by ole blue eyes himself Frank Sinatra. A great way to round off the night.

A really terrific night at Lilleybrook Golf Club on Saturday for the wedding of Kayleigh and Greg.

The father of the bride was really letting loose on air guitar to AC/DC’s “Whole Lotta Rosie”, but song of the night was undoubtedly driven by the Glasto-factor - Elton John’s “Crocodile Rock”.

Terrific party atmosphere at the hotel tonight. Everyone certainly brought their dancing shoes.

This is how we set up before the room got packed with revellers.

Song of the night was quite possibly Mysterious Girl by Peter Andre, but loved playing some Fleetwood Mac at the end.

So sad to hear of the passing earlier today of Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac. Such a talented artist and a sweet sweet voice. She will be sorely missed.

Have followed her career since she was Christine Perfect in Chicken Shack, through the seminal album “Rumours” and beyond “Tango In the Night”. RIP.

This weekend I celebrated 26 Years as Resident DJ at Doubletree Hilton Cheltenham by providing the music at Kirsty and Hakim’s wedding.

The cake was ceremoniously marched out to the table on the back patio to the sounds of “Cake” by Flo Rida, and with the guests cheering them on it was duly cut.

We then moved indoors ready for the first dance, but the bride had a surprise in store, as she invited her father Alex to join her on the dance floor where they’d prepared some moves to “Dance Like Yo Daddy” by Meghan Trainor which brought the house down.

Eventually the bride and groom took to the floor to “Physical” by Dua Lipa, and part way through they invited family and friends to join them on the dancefloor (see photo).

There was two hours of silent disco on three channels (French music for Hakim’s family, Golden Oldies for aunts and uncles, and Kirsty’s pop channel) before I finished off the last two hours with requests and some big tunes.

Nice also to see some old work colleagues among the guests. I love my job.

It’s been in the news that Rumours’ residency, Doubletree Cheltenham has gone in to administration. This is to facilitate a change in ownership, and this message is to reassure everyone that we’ve been informed that it is “business as usual” and that no future wedding, prom, or other function bookings are affected. None of my dates have been cancelled.

Look forward to seeing everyone later this year and beyond.
