It’s hotting up FINALLY!
If you’re ceremony is outdoors and the forecast is a scorcher ensure you factor in a few drinks to keep your guests hydrated while they wait.
You know everyone will be reaching for the bubbles (I know I would) but ask your caterers if they can add a soft cocktail before people get seated. This way you’re side stepping the chances of heat stroke and the men in suits I’m sure will be hugely grateful.

Banqueting tables have been a huge hit with my couples in the last few years and I don’t see this changing anytime soon. Surprisingly in this set up guests have far more ease of interaction with each other than in a circular format. Bringing a real buzz to the space as they lean back to chat to friends behind, opposite and next to them.
Also, styling can be minimalist but still make a statement. At C&L’s wedding in the images above they opted for bud vases, put together by the brilliant Into The Wild that added dainty pockets of colour intertwining with the tall white taper candles.
Keeping stationary elements simple but effective and nothing more than green foliage on the bare wood of the trestle tables brought this whole theme together.
Is there anything better than looking around the room as a planner and seeing this level of fun, laughter and happiness.
You always want your couple to have a memorable day but when the guests are lost in the moment of the day & people can’t contain their giddy smiles you know it’s been a success.

First Wedding of 2023 complete and WHAT a way to start the season.
I have a million and one things I want to share about Clare and Laura’s day but for now I’ll start with this - if you’re planning your wedding and you are worried about traditions, what you should + shouldn’t do, what guests will think, how much you should spend, who’s responsible for what within the wedding party, timings, music, food, accommodation - these are all valid thoughts but above all else please remember the love you have for each other, what as a couple brings YOU joy and what YOU both want to be talking about from your day for years to come.
Because I promise you it will create a day that is personal, creative, emotional and magical just like this one. ✨

Every little thing just aligned so perfectly. Like so many couples they spent months waiting for their special day, staying positive and keeping the excitement momentum going after their wedding was postponed.
There was no better sound than hearing them babble with happiness to each other

Long banquet tables, vibrant colours and a buzzing atmosphere.
🥘The wedding breakfast was a collection of mouth watering Sri-Lankan dishes by the wonderful Sri-Licious all cooked from their food truck outside. Callie & Mary you are wonder women!
🎂Then carrying on the theme of sharing the brides sister Sarah baked SEVEN indulgent chocolate/orange cakes for guests to serve each other for dessert. A huge hit!
🍺The Groom works for DEYA Brewing Company so the theme of the day very much revolved around the beer & why not when it tastes that good! Instead of the regular champagne/Prosecco, for the drinks reception & toast, guests were treated to Strawberry & then Rhubarb beer. A real nod to the bride and grooms tastes.

This post is WELL overdue but be prepared for ALL the autumnal joy from our wonderful couple Becky & Gareth Wedding back in October.
I know we are on the brink of spring but with Storm Eunice wrecking havoc it seemed appropriate to share these gorgeous images to brighten everyone’s day.
B&G booked me to assist with logistics in the lead up to their wedding & then transform the space and co-ordinate their day. Pimhill Barn at Lea Hall is the perfect dry hire venue so they could book all the suppliers they wanted with no restrictions. Ginny from the venue couldn’t have been more accommodating.
Whilst I was taking care of the schedule they could both relax and enjoy their day. Grabbing gorgeous moments like this amongst the trees & between the showers.

Without any winter weddings to prepare for this year I pondered over what to post on my feed that would be of interest to couples. I hate the feeling of posting just for the sake of it and the reality of the day to day is mainly based in admin for next year, looking after my 1 year old and running a dance/music group for toddlers.
So I came to the decision that I wanted to shift the focus onto the incredible suppliers I have the pleasure of working with.

Large wedding weekend incoming!
I’m buzzing with excitement to get on site this Friday to finally execute what we’ve been planning together for 2 years.
Tonight I head to the church rehearsal which will be a perfect opportunity to give my bride & groom a squeeze & settle any pre wedding jitters.

My heart is with every single person waiting patiently for today’s announcement.
The way the government have treated couples and suppliers is beyond disgusting.
No one should have their business dangling on a knife edge, no one should be planning their wedding whilst watching their mental health deteriorate and no one should be made to wait in the dark wondering whether weddings can return to normal, reading conflicting headlines, and seeing the Prime Minister Boris Johnson disregard the rules HE put in place.
The fact he hasn’t even given a time for today’s announcement just adds to the blatant disrespect for those waiting with trepidation.
Whatever the outcome today I know What About Weddings will be there to offer support and guidance. They have been nothing short of incredible throughout this whole ordeal.

Is there anything more beautiful than a person on their wedding morning!?
Whenever I have the privilege of being with a bride or groom whilst they’re getting ready it always takes my breath away the pure beauty before me.
I’m not just talking about appearance but their whole glow. The anticipation of seeing their partner at the end of the aisle the excitement of proclaiming their love in front of their nearest and dearest, the pure joy at being surrounded by their friends as they make the final touches to their attire.
I could witness it a thousand times over, every morning being slightly different, but all still surrounded by that same cloud of love and happiness. It’s a little piece of magic that I get to take with me from every wedding and moments you can enjoy while I look after the finer details.

9 months of maternity leave are over and I’m back at my trusty notepad.
What a time to be away from the wedding industry! I’ve still been having plenty of conversations with fellow suppliers and couples while I’ve been away and it’s evident how worn down and fed up the pandemic has made them feel. I’ve also seen the incredible work by What About Weddings who have continued to give everyone a voice when the government has been infuriating at noticing that this industry counts! The amount of passion and love that flows through everyone makes me so excited to get back to work.
It’s heartbreaking that many small businesses haven’t survived and numerous couples have planning fatigue as the excitement has faded.
I feel though my business model has definitely changed, so expect some updates over the coming weeks and I look forward to being back working with you all soon.
