Grow Your Own Cut Flowers Course.
A full day learning how to create a cutting garden from which you can fill your house with scented, gorgeous flowers. We cover soil preparation, seed sowing, what to grow, where to grow and how to move your seedlings on so they can provide you with flowers throughout the season. We look around our flower farm and show how you don't need lots of room to produce lots of flowers. We discuss compost, no-dig cultivation and there is time for lots of questions. I can't begin to tell you how proud and excited I am to have heard the news that Gill, the founder of Flowers from the Farm and Farewell Flowers and who runs has been awarded an MBE. It was my last task as co-chair of Fftf to nominate Gill for this over four years ago! I was determined she was recognised for all her hard work and inspirational efforts to get sustainable British flowers in everyone's minds. No one has put so much time and effort into this and she thoroughly deserves it. It also shows to everyone else that growing sustainable flowers is an industry which needs to be noticed. For all of us with our trowels at the ready... this one's for the gardeners.

The colours in the apple and cranberry relish are perfect 👌. Happy Christmas everyone 🎄. The kitchen smells delicious, the cottage is ready for our guests and the lights are twinkling. Finally feeling festive 😂.

Finally getting my tulips in. Trying them in crates this year. Hope it works because it was a million times easier than digging a trench and burying them. Just need to cover them in wire mesh to keep the darn squirrels off and we're good to go. 🐿️

Funeral sheaf where the family requested local flowers, homegrown foliage and a natural look. The funeral directors called and said this one's for you! The trick at this time of year is to not let it look like a Christmas decoration but there's plenty of evergreen foliage which doesn't scream festive season.

A group of 'besties' had a fun day here making wreaths. Christmas is coming! Our wreaths are made from willow, hay, foliage and dried fruit and flowers all from our flower farm. Only the ribbons are not compostable and they can be used again. Keeping Christmas sustainable as well as beautiful.
