Far Hill Flowers

Far Hill Flowers At Far Hill Flowers we grow beautiful flowers for weddings, funerals and florists. Artisan floristry We are based just outside Monmouth.

At Far Hill Flowers we grow a range of beautiful, traditional cottage garden flowers. They have a heavenly scent, vibrant colours and are grown outside and some in our small polytunnel. The cutting garden is awash with butterflies, bees, hoverflies, lacewings and all other sorts of insects. We also have slugs and snails but to help us combat those there are many thrushes who work tirelessly to eat

their way through them and when they are exhausted the frogs and toads take over. The plants are fed with nettle and comfrey soup and our homemade compost. We supply local florists and DIY brides and anyone who needs flowers for a special occasion or just because. Call us or message us and see what we can do for you.

Finally getting my tulips in. Trying them in crates this year. Hope it works because it was a million times easier than digging a trench and burying them. Just need to cover them in wire mesh to keep the darn squirrels off and we're good to go. 🐿️

Funeral sheaf where the family requested local flowers, homegrown foliage and a natural look. The funeral directors called and said this one's for you! The trick at this time of year is to not let it look like a Christmas decoration but there's plenty of evergreen foliage which doesn't scream festive season.

A group of 'besties' had a fun day here making wreaths. Christmas is coming! Our wreaths are made from willow, hay, foliage and dried fruit and flowers all from our flower farm. Only the ribbons are not compostable and they can be used again. Keeping Christmas sustainable as well as beautiful.

Another Christmas wreath workshop. A lovely group of ladies, some from as far afield as Essex!. Some found old friends and school mates from way back when and all left with big wreaths a even bigger smiles. Such a lovely start to the advent season.

Some lovely pictures from Adela Photo of my son's wedding back in October. It was such a happy day and the best way to end a very busy wedding season. Now to put the garden to bed, prepare the tulips, ranunculus and anemones, shred the debris, mulch everything, make Christmas wreaths, prepare for the workshops......oh heck!

It's been pretty wet around here this weekend. We're lucky that we live on Far Hill but I'm feeling so sorry for those flooded again in the valleys and towns.

It's dark, freezing and there's still snow on the ground. I've done lots of 'inside' jobs but decided to cheer myself up by looking back at warmer days. This gorgeous wedding was in early June and just up the road which was great. Happy days.
