The days are getting longer, clocks will be soon be going forward, the sun is getting higher in the sky and summer weddings are fast approaching!

Bertie and Jonny are looking forward to performing many new songs they have been working on in recent months, including popular tunes by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Van Morrison, McFly, Bob Marley and many more! All songs they play are carefully arranged specially for violin and guitar by the duo and are performed 100% live, without the use of backing tracks or recorded material. In many cases, new songs are special requests for couples tying the knot this summer. It promises to be a great season ahead which they are both looking forward to!

You can see Bertie and Jonny performing live at Mounton Brook Lodge - Chepstow on 6th April. The duo will be offering special show discounts on all wedding packages they offer and it’s not too late for 2025 as there are still some spaces left! It would be great to see you at the show.

Congratulations Amelia and Shane on your recent wedding and thank you for booking Bertie and Jonny to play at the service and drinks reception. We thought your song choice for the bridal party entrance of ‘River Flows in You’ by Yurima was excellent and we particularly enjoyed arranging it for violin and guitar and performing on your big day for you and your guests. We felt that it created a beautiful atmosphere for the arrival of the bride and we hope we did the song justice. We wish you both a very long and happy marriage.

We would like to thank all the 2024 brides and grooms who put their trust in us to provide live music on their special day. Every wedding is unique to us and it’s always a real pleasure to meet newly-wed couples and all their guests on these happy occasions. We always enjoy playing and doing our bit to help make the day just that little bit extra special!

An extra, unexpected bonus for us this year was winning the Welsh National Wedding Awards 2024 Best Musical Act for East Wales. It was the icing on the cake, so thank you so much, once again, to everyone who voted. It is still sinking in for us!

We love performing at weddings and we are proud of the fact that when we are booked to play live music, we deliver 100% live music. Each song we perform has been arranged, by us, for violin and guitar. We’ve accepted many commissioned songs, normally for the bridal party entrance, and to date we have successfully performed our own version of each one to create unique and happy memories.

Early in the New Year (12th January), we will be performing live at The National Wedding Exhibitions UK Wedding Fare at the fabulous St David’s Hotel, Cardiff. If you are planning your wedding why not come along? - it would be lovely to meet you, play for you and have an informal chat about wedding music options. There will be plenty of wedding suppliers to meet, along with a free entry, £250 raffle draw for one lucky couple!

If we were to offer one bit of advice to anyone planning a wedding, it would be book early! There are so many couples we have sadly had to decline because we are already booked - we operate a strict first come, first served system. A £50 deposit is all that is needed to secure any available date, with the balance not due until about six weeks before the wedding. In addition we will also be offering a 10% discount on any bookings taken during the show itself!

Congratulations Ria and Arran on your recent marriage and thank you for booking Bertie and Jonny to provide the live music during your wedding service and drinks reception. It was our last wedding of 2024 and everyone was still in a party mood after the Christmas celebrations! It was a fabulous, new venue for us and we really enjoyed playing for you and your guests in the Great Hall. Thank you so much to everyone for all the lovely comments we received - they are always very appreciated. We wish you both a very long and happy marriage.

We were absolutely delighted to receive the 'Best Wedding Musical Act for East Wales, 2024' award at the Welsh-National Wedding Awards on Sunday, 10th November. We would like to extend a massive thank-you to everyone who voted for us, all the brides and grooms who booked us, and everyone who supported our music with kind feedback and comments through-out the year. We could not have done it without you and this award means a great deal to us. We enjoyed every wedding we played at, each one unique in its own way and we very much look forward to continuing entertaining wedding guests into 2025 and beyond. Thank you all again for your support!

One of the nicest things about doing a wedding show is that occasionally you get to jam with other wedding musicians. Here's one of us playing Autumn Leaves with Sam Hickman, The Cardiff Harpist, at yesterday's Welsh National Wedding Fayre at Cardiff City Stadium. You don't see many violin/guitar/harp trios and it was great fun to play this classic tune together! A big thank you to Isabel Goodman and everyone at JR Events for organising the show and to everyone who came along, we enjoyed meeting you all.
