It was wonderful to see some familiar faces as well as some new faces joining the Jigsaw network, ready for a fabulous Spring Term! 🌸

BEHIND THE SCENES of a show term! 😂

Just some of the MANY bags of props and other exciting things our team carry between our 3 schools at the weekend!

With 14 shows running across the schools, over just 3 weeks, team Jigsaw Performing Arts School Broxbourne Jigsaw Performing Arts School Ware-Hertford and Jigsaw Performing Arts School Harlow have been non-stop!

We are reflecting on how proud we are of our 3-4 and 4-6 superstars this weekend!

The confidence and bravery that we have seen grow from these classes has been nothing short of amazing and we can’t wait to see how you all progress!

Introducing the company of our very first youth theatre production!

Kosi, Rosanna, Laura, Cornelia and Grace will be taking to the stage in December and have been working so hard on their first ever production as a theatre company.

Jigsaw Youth Theatre is an extension of our popular weekend performing arts classes and has been designed to offer students aged 15-18, the opportunity to further develop their skills in a professional arts setting.

Exciting news for young aspiring actors! 🎭 Jigsaw Youth Theatre has officially launched in Balham, Sutton, Finchley, and Harlow, offering classes for 15+ years! A fantastic opportunity for teenagers to dive into the world of performing arts.

Towards the end of the summer, I dug out my old New Yorkers and went back to the rehearsal room, after being invited to take part in a very special performance piece!

Alongside 5 generations of performers from my time at drama school, we spent two days rehearsing an 8 minute medley, celebrating the work of Kander and Ebb (Chicago, Cabaret etc.)

It was a full musical theatre affair with song and dance and although I haven’t performed outside of teaching since covid, it was great to see how quickly and easy it was to slip back into performance mode!

I hope this inspires our students to take a step outside of their comfort zone this show term, and shows them that they can do whatever they set their minds to! ☺️❤️

On Saturday we held our termly Jigsaw Teacher Training day, and what a busy day it was!

Rachel led a HUGE morning Performing Arts session for all new 3-6’s team joining the Jigsaw network including our very own Kitty who is one of our brilliant Class Assistants.

Alongside this, franchisee and Jigsaw Agent Emily, ran a FABULOUS singing session for those teaching 7-18’s.

Then in the afternoon, Rachel and Lily took part in some brilliant training for our brand new Jigsaw Jumpers class ran by franchisee Imogen, while our assistant Kitty took part in Amy’s wonderful drama teacher training!

Further down the corridor we also had the lovely Hayley running a fantastic dance teacher session!

The studios down at Dance Attic we’re certainly buzzing with our presence!

Yesterday was the annual Jigsaw Performing Arts Schools conference! Each year all the Jigsaw franchisees from across the network meet to share ideas, and plan for the year ahead.

We got to listen to some great presentations from some wonderful speakers, including the brilliant Club Hub UK - Kids Activities and Trustist as well as hearing more about the exciting plans for our 30th anniversary next year! Watch this space, as it is going to be epic!

There was a really inspiring talk from fellow franchisee Abbie, who runs Jigsaw Performing Arts School Chelmsford and Jigsaw Performing Arts School Brentwood and we finished the day with the annual Jigsaw Franchise awards. The brilliant news is, we won Best Social Media for 23/24! 📸

We finished the day with a celebratory dinner together, feeling inspired and looking forward to the academic year ahead!
