THIS IS NOT A MARKETING PLOY !!!

The past few days have seen bookings really pick up. In all honesty it has caught me on the hop a bit as it usually happens in the next week or two.

You can see by my availability calendar just how busy it is.

On top of this, from 1st September I will be increasing my prices – let’s face it, everything continues to go up in price. However, get booked in before then (even if your date is after that) and I will only charge you my current fee.

There is so much more to my nights than simply watching horse racing (unless of course that is what you want)

IMPORTANT NOTICE

I’ve a few bookings who have booked, couple before Xmas, and despite reminders the booking form and deposit payment hasn’t been completed.

Numerous reminders have been sent but no reply, so I’ve now cancelled these bookings.

Officially I only hold dates for 48 hours for the form to be returned and deposit paid.

If you haven’t completed a form, paid your deposit and received your race night pack in the post then I’m afraid you aren’t booked in.

Enquiries and bookings are crazy at this time of year so I’ve got to be really strict I’m afraid.

🐴RACE NIGHT SPONSORSHIP 🐴

I am well aware that costs of a Race Night can be a concern for some – after you have held a Race Night though you won’t be so worried about this as you will realise the full potential.

However, keeping costs low is a priority and a great way to do this is through SPONSORSHIP. Below are just a few brainstorming ideas I have had regarding sponsorship, however any tips or tricks you think would work let me know.

Whole of Night v Race Sponsor

Firstly, there are 2 main types of Sponsor/s for a Race Night:

1. Whole of night – someone who sponsors the actual night, usually covers my fee
2. Each Race can also have a Sponsor, usually a lower amount than a whole of night sponsor and usually covers the owners prizes for each race and maybe contributes toward the tri-cast prize (all this is explained in the Race Night Pack)

❓How much do Sponsors pay ?

That is entirely up to you

❓What do Sponsors gain ?

This is something I have been working on a lot behind the scenes. Not many people will give you money without getting something in return.

❓A few ideas are :

1. I can make any announcements to promote businesses who sponsor
2. Design your own Race Card with the outer page having sponsors logos on (Canva is free and great for this)
3. Send me logos, videos, presentations, basically anything that can be projected on a screen which can be played on the night to promote those businesses sponsoring you
4. Have a ‘Business Table or Corner’ where sponsors can leave business cards, banners etc
5. Allow someone from the business do a short presentation
6. Advertise your sponsors on social media (I can share to my page too)
7. Invite the sponsors along free of charge as your guest, maybe even a table for them and a few guests (it is a win, win situation here as they will also join in on the night)

I will openly admit I am no expert on this, but hopefully the above will help a little, any suggestions though please fire away as sponsorship can make all the difference to your fundraising efforts.

WEBSITE Opinions !

My website is really outdated, I know that, BUT it still works for me.

I do have a bit time off this month so should I upgrade or just leave it as it is ?

So much more than simply watching racing !

The below is just an example, you can include more/less, have food etc etc

In no way do I guarantee everything on the timeline - there are many variables including timing, amount of people and even how much attention people pay, but most of my nights follow this or a very similar timeline.

As the month progresses, January becomes my busiest month for new bookings.

Always great to hear things like this - my main aim is to give people a fantastic fun night, then the money comes without the need to constantly hound people.

Firstly thank you to everyone who has supported both events for this amazing charity. We are thrilled to say we raised £1715 which we have rounded up to £1800 . Roll on next year when we hopefully smash this year’s donation, our first event will be race night on the 16th March 2025 . Kelly James Candlelighters

I don't pretend to be busy, the dates showing as booked are genuinely booked.

I am now taking bookings from January until Easter

NEXT WEEK will be the final week for those on my waiting list for Easter till Sumer to book, then I will open the diary for any booking until the Summer Holidays – earlier than usual but getting more difficult to juggle dates due to demand

I know a lot of entertainers pretend they are busy in order to get people to rush and book, but I really am in demand for weekends.
