🐻 Whether it's seeing the weekly improvement playing the songs the children have chosen, listening to the music they create, or seeing the joy on their faces as they throw colourful scarves in the air, there are always so many reasons why I look forward to Saturday mornings!

🐻 A big thank you to all the children who have joined in the fun at Purple Bear Music since it began a year ago. If you haven't been yet, why not give it a try?

🐻 Purple Bear Music is delighted to announce our 3 hour Music and Movement Holiday Club is coming to Durham!

🎹 On Thursday 31st October at Merryoaks Community Hall, children aged 5-11 will be able to take part in creating and performing their own music, playing lots of music and movement games, experience playing a wide range of different instruments, and all without needing any musical background whatsoever!

🎸 All our instruments are colour coded to make the experience as easy and accessible as possible, meaning the children are able to play along to songs and create brand new music even if they have never played an instrument before.

🥁 The activities are all designed to be fun, engaging, and confidence building, whether it be as part of a group or even leading and directing it.

🎵 Purple Bear Music is all about social interaction, making friends through music, and giving everyone the chance to experience the joy of group music performance, no matter your age, ability, or location.

🐻Purple Bear Cubs (Music and Movement) sessions are for Reception to Year 2 children who want to play lots of different instruments, dance, play games, make friends, and have lots of music based fun over the summer holidays. The children will be able to experience playing keyboards, guitars, drums, percussion, and discover how to play great sounding music together as a group, whilst also taking part in movement and music games and competitions sure to burn off all that energy!

🐻The Purple Bear Music sessions are for 7-11 year olds (Year 3 to Year 6) who want to play lots of different instruments, learn to perform in a band together, make friends, and have lots of music based fun over the summer holidays. The children will be able to experience playing keyboards, guitars, drums, percussion, and discover how to play great sounding music together as a group, whilst also being able to record their own songs to keep forever.

🐻Purple Bear Music sessions will take place from 10am-11am (Rec-Y2) and 11am-12pm (Y3-Y6) on the dates shown, £5 per child. If you would like to book in for all 6 sessions, please contact Pete at info@purplebearmusic for a discounted price.

A couple of days ago, I was walking some primary school children back to an after-school club I manage, and the topic turned to music. I asked if they did music in school, to which there was a lacklustre mumble about doing something with glockenspiels and finding the right note on a board. One Year....
