It is International Cat Day so what better reason to post a photo of our lovely Coco.

Coco is our little old lady cat who doesn't come onsite to the weddings we host but is often found on our desks keeping us company whilst we catch up with the admin.

Here is a slightly controversial topic! Do suppliers charge more just because you say it's a wedding?

Well, that depends but it's not for reasons you think.

Here at The Venue at Golborne, our packages are generally the same whether it is a wedding, birthday party, celebration or corporate event.

As an independent family-run business, we can tailor our packages to suit your needs and the cost may vary because of that but that's not because it's a wedding - that's just because that's who we are!

Other suppliers may charge more for weddings to ensure that they give you the best of their time and schedule.

A hairdresser may choose to spend 3 hours with you rather than 2 to make sure that every hair is in the perfect place.

A photographer may choose to spend 12 hours with you rather than 6 (not to mention countless more editing) to make sure that you have the perfect pictures to remember your day by.

A florist may spend a day researching the perfect stems to include in your bouquet rather than going for whatever the wholesaler has on offer because if flowers are important to you, they're important to them.

You are probably spending huge amounts of time dedicated to making your wedding perfect - don't you want your suppliers to as well? Well, if you, I'm afraid it's going to cost more.

All we ask is that they're kept under control and you clean up after them - much like any other guest really!

We are a corkage free wedding venue which means you can bring your own drinks at absolutely no charge. We will even chill and serve them for you as well as providing all the necessary glassware.

This not only give you much more choice to have your wedding how you want it, but it also saves you lots of money.
