In spite of the awards and accolades, it was your unwavering patronage that drove us to deliver the 1539 experience that we were so proud of. For this, we cannot thank you enough.

In response to the challenging economic environment, we have decided to repurpose Restaurant 1539 as event space in 2023 and beyond.

The venue will be available to hire for corporate events, weddings, parties and private hire and will continue to open for our successful seasonal events such as Christmas and of course Chester race days.

The restaurant will close on New Year’s Day and will reopen for events in January 2023. All guests with reservations from 1st January onwards, will be contacted to confirm the cancellation of their booking and a refund of deposit. We will not be taking any further bookings for the period until New Year’s Day. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you to our customers for their continued support and a big thank you to our brilliant and talented staff who work hard all year round to deliver consistently high standards and quality customer service. We intend to maintain those high standards in the future in the restaurant's new function.
