Venison fillet, celeriac puree, haggis boulangère, blackberry, salt baked carrot, celeriac crisps and game jus.⁠

Venison and Pinot Noir go hand in hand! The delicate, gamey flavours of venison require a red wine with low tannin levels, and Pinot Noir fits the bill perfectly. It enhances the dish and brings out all those wonderful nuances.

A huge congratulations to our Chef de Partie, Ellie who won the highly commended award for Young Chef of the Year at the last week!

The judges said “This person found their way into the kitchen, pushing chefs to show them kitchen skills as a KP, was quick to learn and was soon promoted to Chef de Partie. This person is destined to progress further.”

And we couldn’t agree more - we are so proud of you Ellie! 👏

"The team at Old Palace went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our wedding day was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a more lovely, responsive and personable group of people to facilitate our wedding.

The food was outstanding on the day and breakfast was also excellent with a huge variety of choice.

Our guests all commented on the beautiful venue and how wonderful the staff were, from bar team, waiters and our amazing co-ordinators. We would recommend Old Palace to anyone wanting an incredible wedding with total peace of mind!"

The Queens Park Bridge connects Chester's picturesque Groves with the desirable Queen's Park area of the city. It was designed by city engineer and surveyor, Charles Greenwood, to ease congestion at the adjacent Old Dee Bridge. This iconic landmark has been a staple of Chester architecture since it was officially opened by the Lord Mayor on 18th April 1923, and is only a short walk from Old Palace.

This time last year, we had the honour of hosting a centennial celebration for the bridge in partnership with Chester Business Club and Chester Regatta, established 1733 ⁠- part of what makes our city so special is its rich history and here at Old Palace Chester, we are proud to be part of that.

"My wife and I had the pleasure of getting married here on 21.12.23. The whole experience from start to finish was nothing short of perfection.

We were made to feel like complete VIPs, nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional as was everything throughout our amazing day.

Lauren and Georgie looked after us every step of the way and for that we are truly grateful. We would recommend anyone getting married, to look no further because this is your venue.
