Walking in My Shoes

Walking in My Shoes We are walking the South West Coast Path this autumn- all 630 miles of it!- with our little friend Adi, a positive little penguin! Please help us.

Together we are planning to raise our fitness and barrel loads of funds for charities close to our hearts. Martin and Fiona are celebrating 30 years of marriage this year but were nearly parted a few years back when Martin experienced an Aortic Dissection. Lovers of gastronomy, hospitality, challenges, and lovely people; they have two amazing daughters, Beth and Ellie Rose.

We were delighted to be joined on one of our days walking the path by Graham Cooper. Graham is a Surgeon, and we had a fabulous day walking and talking, and learning more about and also about the charity . Graham is one of the trustees and works tirelessly for the charity. Here Graham explains more about the charity’s goals and his greatest wishes that both he, and the Charity, strive to achieve ❤️

We had the absolutely pleasure of walking with Running for Rebecca towards the end of our challenge. Emily’s mum and sister both experienced Aortic Dissection, but in very different ways, and Emily has spent the last 12 months raising funds to aid Rebecca’s recovery and raising awareness for ❤️ drop Emily a follow to learn more!

DAY 37: Brixham to Babacombe (15 miles)
A mainly urban path walk today from Brixham to Babacombe. We were delighted to be joined by friends Helen and Matt, along with the lovely Hector. The forecast was promising a storm, and didn’t disappoint and we had an afternoon of battling the wind, rain and sea! The latter attacking us over the sea wall at Torquay as we moved through. We were so wet by this stage, it didn’t really matter and was actually quite fun. Arriving in Babacombe was a relief albeit the slightly odd Anchorage hotel was not the best to be marooned into, but alas, we got warm and dry and enjoyed an early night! ❤️ links in bio as usual to learn more & donate!

Today is which is focusing upon .

I was so lucky to have a smooth, swift and effective diagnosis, thanks to some amazing teams, firstly with team then along with Countess Of Chester Hospital and Wythenshawe Heart Centre and thanks to them I am still here to enjoy doing things like this fabulous The South West Coast Path walk.

Some further details below
The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust

Our link if you can help. Funds help raise awareness and education of Aortic Dissection which will reduce the number of missed diagnoses, and will save lives. I am so lucky, sadly, many others aren’t. 🙏❤️❤️❤️

Yesterday we took a short break from walking and met our daughters in St Ives to continue the 30th Wedding Anniversary celebrations and renew our vows in a place that is so very special to us 🩷 we enjoyed plenty of champagne, shared special words and memories, and - of course - danced to Depeche Mode on the beach! Now the glad rags are packed away and it’s back to walking gear as we continue our venture along the bright and early tomorrow morning 🥾 walking content to resume shortly!
