Nice set-up tonight for Tupton Community Awards. Many thanks for allowing us to be part of this night and thank you to the host with the most Mr Chris Heathcote.

It's that time of the year again, when we thank the volunteers and good work that binds our great community together.

Huge thanks as well to our judging panels: Cllrs Anne Knyhynyckyj and Nicola Smith of Wingerworth Parish Council and Colin Swindell, Wingerworth's Parish Clerk - who have the incredibly difficult job of picking the winners; but whose neutrality means that everything is judged fairly; and to Mark Evans, Mel Evans and Adele Sampson - the family of Marie Evans, for choosing the winner of the Marie Evans Award.

The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on 9th September, when thanks will be paid to all of the nominees at a civic reception.

Irrespective of who wins, you are all community heroes.
