We invite adults and children to craft classes held every Saturday.
Our classes are a great way to lift your spirit and are one of the most effective ways to fight depression. This will also help to eliminate many disorders, in particular, anxiety states, apathy or insomnia.

These photos are a wonderful reminder of the time spent together. Everyone who has been involved in it is advised to check it on their own experience and see how these small activities improve mental health and mood!

We understand that lately the news from Ukraine is very sad, one grief after another. Unspeakable pain for all injured and dead Ukrainians 💔 🇺🇦
We also understand the impact the war has on every Ukrainian and the uncertainty of when it will end.
We all have PTSD and chronic stress that affects our daily lives. For someone who has not been through it, it is difficult to understand.

Therefore, we would like to remind you that in our group, our support worker received the qualification of the First Mental Health Aider and is ready to provide you with the necessary support and provide information about available services.

As World Su***de Prevention Day (WSPD) is celebrated on September 10, 2024, we also want to host a conversation at our meeting called Let's Talk. And everyone will be able to receive individual or group support.

Everything we do in our group is aimed at supporting your mental health. Our team is always ready to support you. Please do not don't be afraid to open up, contact us if you really need this help 🙏🏼
We will definitely support you and help as much as we can.

Independence Day!

On August 24, Ukraine will celebrate the most important national holiday - Independence Day.
💙💛 33 years since the declaration of independence of Ukraine!
Now, as for many centuries in a row, Ukraine is fighting for its right to exist, once again defending its independence. Therefore, this day is very important for all Ukrainians.
🌻🌻🌻Let's show our children and UK friends our national self-awareness, a sense of unity and pride and support for our people and our country.

Peace and happy future to Ukraine and Ukrainians! May our country be free and prosperous!

The beginning of July was busy and we had the opportunity to visit two festivals - CYM GB's Krayoviy Zdvih 2024 and Pol- Fest 2024.
It helps us with socialisation and adaptation in Uk. It helps also build trust between the different community groups and minorities in Derbyshire.

In addition to weaving wreaths and launching them into the water, we jumped over fire 🔥🔥🔥 It is the personification of sunlight 🌞
This is also an ancient tradition, it is believed that jumping over fire is purification and protection from evil spirits.

These two weeks were actually very busy. There were many events, activities and festivals. We just don't have time to post everything. We try to just live this life, to be in the moment 🩵💛
Recent sad events and massive shelling have once again confirmed that our strength is in unity and support for each other! We sincerely sympathize and pray for a peaceful sky in Ukraine 🙏🏼

However, we still want to share with you these gorgeous photos that Hanna Kasianiuk created for us. She accurately conveyed these moments and our sincere emotions.

We had the opportunity to celebrate our traditional holiday of Ivan Kupala. This meeting gave us wonderful emotions and reminded us that our Ukrainian culture is full of various interesting customs and traditions. Some of them date back to pre-Christian times.
Such holidays are surrounded by ancient rituals and rites. Our ancestors celebrated this holiday back in the days of Kyivan Rus.
This day was remembered by the members of our community with interesting entertainment, wreath-weaving workshops, dances and sincere children's laughter. There was also music and various contests.
The picnic area was also great, connecting us with nature 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿

We sincerely invite children to a 👩🏼‍🎨🎨🖌️🖍️drawing lesson. With the help of classes, your child will be able to develop his artistic abilities. This, in turn, contributes to the development of creative thinking, imagination and the expression of personality through visual arts.
Our tutor will teach children various techniques and subtleties of drawing.
This is a great opportunity to let kids express themselves and undoubtedly contributes to the improvement of children's mental health.

On June 1, we celebrated 🧸👶🏻 👧🏼👦🏻International Children's Day by organizing a wonderful picnic, fun activities, sports games and other activities for 🇺🇦 Ukrainian children.

Children are our precious heritage! Therefore, promoting their development, forming a healthy lifestyle are the most important goals and aspirations of our group.

This event was also aimed at improving social adaptation in the UK, improving the physical development and mental health of the children of our community group.

This day will be etched in the memory with pleasant memories. It was full of good emotions, children's laughter, sincere smiles and interesting activities.

Thanks to the United Kingdom, our children are safe and can enjoy their childhood!

We thank all those present for their active participation in master classes and various activities 💙💛
We were pleased to show our British friends and guests 🇺🇦 Ukrainian traditions.
The preservation of folk customs, rites, and traditions is undoubtedly a good means of reproducing Ukrainian culture and affirming our identity.

An incredible day for members of our community group.

Part of our community group had the opportunity to visit Town Hall, talk with the Mayor of Chesterfield Mick Brady and see the mayor’s parlour.
The Ukrainians were delighted with this opportunity, especially the children, who looked around with interest and great curiosity.

We are very grateful for this opportunity!
Thank you for your warm welcome and hospitality. We admire the history of this place and are glad that we were able to learn more about Chesterfield. Everyone was especially impressed by the old paintings and photos.

We have opened the season 🚍🚐🧳
This Saturday we made our first trip of the year. Thanks to a grant and collaboration with Derbyshire Community Transport, we were able to visit the wonderful, picturesque town of Stratford-upon-Avon. The city is the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
Therefore, we were all able to walk around famous places: the house on Henley Street, where Shakespeare was born; the place of his baptism; the school he attended, Nash House and Shakespeare's gardens, Croft Hall (the home of Shakespeare's daughter Susan and her husband Dr. Hall) and Anne Hathaway's cottage.
We also visited the two oldest streets: Henley Street and Sheep Street. There are still houses on this street that remember Shakespeare himself.
Therefore, the Ukrainian community group was inspired by such places and gained very pleasant impressions.
We would love to come back to Stratford-upon-Avon again.

Thanks to the grant and the work of our wonderful crafter Oksana, we were able to hold a number of free master classes.
One of these classes was a master class on making 🐣🐔🐥🥚🪻🌼 Easter decorations. These classes brought pleasure and enjoyment to all participants 😀
After all, it will undoubtedly be a wonderful memory of this day, a beautiful decoration of our homes or a gift for loved ones.

We want to thank our wonderful,🪡🧵🧶🖌️ Craft tutor Oksana, who conducted a wonderful class and gave everyone very positive emotions!
We really enjoyed the master class on making a Motanka doll.

Oksana told about the history of the appearance of the Motanka Doll, taught how to quickly make these beautiful folk toys.
It was a great way to remember our 🇺🇦traditions and learn about the culture and lifestyle of the 💙💛 Ukrainian people.

And the best thing about it was the feeling of a sense of unity. So the children, helping their mothers, could share these wonderful emotions together.
Also, girls from our community could feel each other's support and presence. It is extremely unifying and gives incredibly kind and happy emotions 😍😀

This Saturday we celebrated Pancake Day and were welcoming many guests. The Mayor of Chesterfield, representatives of various organizations and groups, volunteers and many other guests were invited on this day.
It was a great opportunity to thank everyone for the incredible help and support we have received since the first days of the war in Ukraine, as well as a great opportunity to treat everyone with Ukrainian traditional food and show the development of our community during this time.

♥️We are truly grateful for creating favorable conditions for adapting our lives in Derbyshire, promoting the acquisition of more skills, knowledge and respecting our traditions and culture!

Thank you to the 🇬🇧 United Kingdom, Derbyshire County Council, Chesterfield Borough Council, Links CVS (Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire Voluntary Service Council and Action Ltd), Rotary Club, Homes for Ukraine and other volunteers who have supported us so far!

We also held a number of great activities for children and adults on the day.
We had a wonderful photo exhibition of works by Anastasia and Vikentiy. The children had the opportunity to practice with our tutors and were able to participate in various workshops, they had also the great opportunity to attend a dance & singing class and an interesting lesson in neurogymnastics.

Thank you to everyone who was present on this day and shared this day with us!
