Happy Hump-day😁 After a joyous week of gigs last week, it's a little more sedate this week, for which I am very grateful for as from Saturday onwards it's going to be a roller coaster of events until Christmas - I know, I mentioned the C word 😳😆🎄🎅🌟

Today was what I would call a near perfect day. The weather was beautiful for my early morning Pongo walk on Portsdown Hill, the view towards the water was stunning. Then this afternoon I got to sing (and dance) with the lovely residents of Kitnock House. Add a homemade family meal and a glass of red to that and I feel truly content. 🤗😊

With Remembrance Sunday approaching I thought I'd put pen to paper and write a poem called The Heaviest Price. I had the pleasure of sharing this at the start of the RBL Poppy Appeal at QA Hospital last week and will be reading it again tomorrow for the same appeal.

Happy 65th birthday to the amazing Bryan Adams 😍 Still THE best concert I've been to. Wembley Stadium 1992 ....I was 17 years old and went with my lovely friend Julie Redford and Michelle. Squeeze, Little Angels and Extreme were the support acts and we managed to get to the front and just watch in awe singing until our voices were hoarse. This will always remain my favourite👇 Happy HAPPY memories🥰.....and Sandra Jaques ....he's MINE😆❤️🎶

I heard a great saying today:
You're the one creating the orchestra in your head - make sure it plays a glorious tune🎶❤️
We can all be sensitive and under confident at times (not just performers and creatives)and we often play unkind and unnecessary comments, criticism, let downs, back bites, brush offs and comparisons through our heads over and over again until they end up changing our orchestra's playlist from an epic Symphony to a somber Requiem.
Our brains are amazing things, but they often sabotage us to 'protect' us from further hurt and upset, because of that orchestra in our head. If you only do one thing today, make sure it's telling yourself how great you are; tell yourself you're beautiful, tell yourself you're strong and that you BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! Make sure you conduct the orchestra.....not the other way around🤗❤️🎶❤️

A great hour (yesterday) spent singing with and conducting the Fine Voice Academy Chorus for the start of QA Hospital's Poppy Appeal. The resonance that the atrium created was fantastic and we had many visitors and a few patients stop by to listen and join in. An exciting, albeit slightly daunting, moment when I read out a poem of remembrance called The Heaviest Price that I had recently written. The piece has now been submitted to the National Poetry Competition and was bookended perfectly by a rousing choral performance of Jerusalem.🌺🌺 Plum Poetry UK - Karen Barnett

Well I have had an amazeballs day (yes that's right I said amazeballs!!!)
This morning I sang with the Fine Voice Academy Chorus for the Pompey Pals morning at Fratton Park - an eclectic mix of wartime and uplifting singalong songs. And then this afternoon I had the pleasure of singing at Cornerstone Healthcare Group Ltd South Africa Lodge.....a couple of 'lump in throat' moments from residents singing and dancing along and being just wonderful. I am so flippin lucky to do this job🤗❤️🎶
