Castle Combe Karting’s Own Luke Cooper Shines at Formula Ford Festival!

Hello to our Castle Combe Karting family! We love celebrating karting milestones and our incredible karting community, and today, we’re excited to put the spotlight on someone you may know well: our very own Race Director, Luke Cooper.

For those who don’t know, Luke is not only an experienced karting Race Director here at Castle Combe, but he’s also a fiercely competitive driver in the Formula Ford 1600 single-seater series. Luke may not be one to boast, but we think his latest accomplishments are well worth sharing!

Last weekend, Luke took on the iconic Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch, and he delivered an incredible performance across challenging conditions. Racing at Brands Hatch is no small feat, especially in a high-stakes event like this one, where competitors come from across the country, and the weather was a wildcard, shifting between wet and dry on race day. Yet, despite these challenges, Luke didn’t just participate – he made it onto the podium!

Here’s a breakdown of his stellar weekend:

Heat: Luke fought hard and secured 2nd place.
Semi-Final: Against a field of talented drivers, Luke managed an impressive 3rd place finish.
Grand Final: In the event’s pinnacle race, Luke held his ground in a tight battle, finishing strong in 3rd place.
For anyone who’s raced, you know how demanding this sport can be, mentally and physically, and Formula Ford is no exception. Luke’s drive and focus are not only inspiring but also a testament to the dedication he brings to the track, both as a driver and as our Race Director.

Luke might not be the type to shout about his achievements, but we believe his success is something his colleagues and pupils can take pride in and learn from. His racing skills and competitive spirit bring a wealth of experience to Castle Combe, benefiting every one of us who has the privilege of learning from him.

So next time you see Luke around the circuit, be sure to congratulate him on his incredible Formula Ford Festival weekend. Let’s celebrate the dedication he pours into his own racing – and the same energy he brings back to Castle Combe to make our racing experiences the best they can be.

TV Icon Noel Edmonds Brings the Fun to Drive-Tech with a Family Day Out!

Skid Instructor Martyn Cox and 4x4 Instructor Andy Down recently had the pleasure of meeting TV Legend Noel Edmonds after he arranged a Skid Control course and 4x4 off-road course as part of a birthday treat for a family day out.

The TV star who was visiting the area also took part in the activities and as previously reported having been spotted with odd shoes on an outing at an ice cream shop Noel did not disappoint, sure enough he was proudly wearing odd shoes.

Drive-Tech would like to thank Noel and family for choosing our skid pan and 4x4 facility and for allowing us to use these images on our social media pages.
