Local businesses and residents BEWARE

On Friday 29th March 2024 ( Good Friday ) at 1.28pm

We had this delightful gentlemen come into the salon to try and purchase 1 of every retail product

Jason was having non of it as he a huge amount of cash and a high level of debit cards, he was clearly told we would not take cash ONLY card payment as the transaction was so big Jason asked to see ID

This delightful man Got behind the reception desk and tried distracting one of the girls as you can see his build would of been intimidating especially to one of the younger ladies at the salon so Jason got in between which made the man uneasy, as staff handbags were around, instead took a mobile phone from right under our noses,

Anyone that knows Jason 0-5 seconds he was out that door and flew down the high street, luckily this man still had a full set of teeth,

This man also tried to swap money at the petrol station but luckily they didn’t fall for it either.

It’s one of those things that happens, but Jason is looking forward to starting his summer sports and playing rounders on his lunch break, the bat is coming back.

This is exactly why Jason has one strict rule non of the girls is allowed to work in the salon alone, purely for this exact reason

He was big build and certainly didn’t phase Jason, and he will not have the girls feel unsafe at work

Please keep your eyes peeled, this one slipped the net but image if it was the elderly or a younger teenager being challenged.

Why are you so expensive? 🌹
If you've ever worked in a florist shop then you've no doubt heard this question from customers comparing the flowers you sell to blooms from the local supermarket. So this Valentine's Day if you need to remind customers of the difference, show them this.

On the left is a standard 40cm rose, with a minimum head size of 3.5cm x 2.5cm, typical varieties are Red Alert, Red Secret, Romeo, Furiosa and Red Dragon (we believe this is a Red Secret).
On the right is a premium, large-headed 60cm Freedom Rose from Columbia or Ecuador.

So if you get any feedback of “well I can get a dozen from my local supermarket for a lot cheaper”, you can remind customers that what they are paying for is NOT the same product. And the flowers in a supermarket probably haven’t had the right care and conditioning from an expert florist and so won’t last as long.

Feel free to share this post with your customers. The first step to customers understanding why florists are more expensive is in educating them on the difference between what we do and what you get elsewhere.
