This looks like a great event in Town Hall at the end of next week!

Tango Fandango will be bringing you a day of dance teaching and followed by an evening of Milango!

Luis and Elizabeth will be focusing on the theme of Tango Salon. Leo and Tracey will be covering the theme of ‘the Old Guard’ which will include elements of the style of Orillero and Canyengue

You can choose to do:

1 Workshop
£23pp (£25pp on the door)

1 Workshop & Milonga
£35pp (£40 pp on the door)

2 Workshops
£40 pp (£50 pp on the door)

2 Workshops & Milonga
£45 pp (then £55 pp on the door)

We have Big Love for DJMD Events and their cracking Bingo! evening! The last Bingo! night saw a top prize of £120, and the more people who join - the merrier that prize gets! So come along to Town Hall on Sunday 22nd September for a fun night out.

It's tomorrow! Come and visit the wonderful World Textile Day event hosted by The Running Stitches from 10 am to 4 pm in Town Hall. With the best displays of textiles from around the world, you will be beguiled by the colours and textures on hand and for sale in Upper Hall.

Refreshments will be being served up by the teams from Middletown Grange Care Home and Southerndown Care Home - Barchester Healthcare, as well as their own home made bakes for you to enjoy. Any proceeds from the deliciousness you purchase will be donated to a local charity, so get that feel good feeling whilst breaking from your browsing!

We are delighted to welcome West Oxfordshire District Council Execs on Tour today. Already lots of interesting info all about Chippy has been delivered, from funding our local businesses to answering questions from the Community.

Thanks to Alison and Sandra for holding the council to account over the Bins issue in Town and Sandra about support for Council Tax payers. All answered with the concern needed to make things better.

The Young and Intrepid Explorers of Chippy had a great time at the Explorers Summer Club here in Town Hall today. With a full house of very well behaved, loud and excitable children, Kath and her team of volunteers from Chipping Norton Community Church worked their socks off to provide a wonderful provision to parents and children for the first week of the Summer Holidays. It was a full day of creative activity, film and song, and the Town Hall doors were bursting with happiness, much to the delight of tourists and locals alike as they walked passed. It's a great start to their week!

They are fully booked out for Summer Club - but Kath and the team are here in the Town Hall on Thursday mornings during Term Time with Little Footsteps, for the young families in Chippy, if you are looking for something great to do with your babies and toddlers every week.

Don't take our word for it... take Matt's - he tried it and LOVED it! 💖 OP Woodcraft's fantastic workshop, No. 1 of 3 this year, went down very well with the people attending here at Town Hall! This is what Matt Spicer had to say about his experience:

❝ On Saturday 15th June I attended a furniture restoration and up-cycling workshop in the Town Hall in Chippy. The session was run by Oliver Piepereit from OP Woodcraft and funded by the Chipping Norton Town Council in respect of improving mental health in the Community. All safety equipment and tools were provided. Oliver began the workshop with an outline of the day and important safety instructions. To begin with we were taught how to strip wood using powerful chemicals and then cleaning the wood with water and a wire wool, before sanding by hand. Some of the group worked on pieces of furniture that they had brought in whilst others practiced on off-cuts that Oliver provided. We then learnt how to fill holes in the wood using hard filler and then how to use a substance that filled in the grains of the wood before polishing.

Oliver's teaching was interesting and informative and he encouraged everyone to work at their own pace. The day was enjoyable and we left with new skills that I am going to continue to use in future projects. The next session will be on Saturday August 17th when we will learn how to French Polish.❞

🧩 They only went and Did It! 🧩 The Community Jigsaw is complete! 🧩

Although sadly with one teensy missing piece - that we would be very grateful for it's return...if everyone could check their pockets...? 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😁

The community jigsaw has been entertaining many people for the past few months. Each week the Coffee, Chat and More group get together on Monday mornings and one of the activities has been working together to help complete the wonderful Bliss Mill jigsaw. Many people visiting the Town Hall have also taken much enjoyment from sitting and having a go at the puzzle in reception as well as chippy folk taking respite from the weather, and sitting and enjoying the jigsaw whilst staying out of the rain.

It has been such a joy to people that we will be providing another puzzle to the community - we are inviting the group to decide on a picture they would like and that will be turned into a puzzle for the whole community to enjoy...we won't get one with sooooo much sky this time 😁
