Bridesmaids & groomsmen were traditionally used to protect from vengeful spirits and presences. They would usually dress similar to the bride and groom to confuse jealous suitors who would be willing to harm the couple.

I love how old traditions find a new meanings a modern world.

What's the craziest things you've learnt whilst planning, or even better what bizarre task were you given for the day as a bridesmaid?

Aside from spilling red wine on the sister in law for wearing a cream dress 😬

How could I not reshare this masterpiece? And yes that's a fresh floral heart shaped arch, very fitting for Vday this week 💕

Fun fact we ran up and down those steps ten thousand times to get the placements correct for the top waterfall!

It might sound crazy, but as a florist I don't celebrate Valentine's day too much. Not because I don't like being treated like a princess, but more because I grew up with it being my big sisters birthday, so it was always about her 😒 but that's a different story for another day!

That doesn't mean I ignore it, it's just different. But this week, I've decided to only share pink and red inspiration for you lovely lot. Starting with Laura's dreamy pink day at the fabulous Mere Resort.

Laura's bouquet was just fluffy pink peonies massed into a classic shaped posy bound with white ribbon, it smelt even better than it looked!

Then for the reception décor we used a mixture of different pink and cream roses to create a delicious center piece beneath the candles.

I'm completely in love with intimate receptions and edible table displays, isn't this most delicious reception table with twinkling candles, warm seasonal blooms and delicious fruits & nuts.

The table was set with layers are earthy fabrics, stone crockery, black glassware and several dozen brass candlesticks.

The flower and fruit displays included hellebore, spray roses, carnations and lizzys.
