What will my child need: Packed lunch, plenty of drinks and snacks, trainers, and dressed appropriately for the weather, warm Jacket/Sun cream.

Fun focused, development comp, always well organised and we are proud of all our children for taking part 💙💛

7 of our 8 children competed for the first time 🏆

Some of our children ended up in the same categories but we still had alot of fun displaying our judo ☺️

Judo Education Coaching Position

We are currently looking for a Judo coach to join our team of Sports coaches delivering extra-curricular classes, and during curriculum time classes, in Primary Schools and community clubs across the North West of England.

Offering an attractive Salary of £21000-£25000 (pro-rata) dependant on experience. This is a fantastic chance to turn the sport and hobby you love into a full time career, or create an additional income stream to work around your current Job.

*Judo Education will cover all travel expenses and supply you with all the equipment you need to deliver our sessions*

No Sessions take place during the School Holidays, but there is the opportunity to lead our Holiday clubs for an extra income.

The Role

Work with our team delivering fun, safe and professional lessons in the Olympic art of Judo across our Primary Schools and community clubs. You will be working with Children from ages 5-12, and be liaising with teachers and other professionals within the School environment.

Responsibilities will include

-Arriving at each class with plenty of time to set up your equipment and greet the children as they arrive.
-Ensuring you are delivering our tried and tested lesson plans at all times.
-promote reporting of any Safeguarding issues
-Promote the sport of Judo positively and encourage children to peruse the sport outside of school.
-Ensure you have an up to date DBS, Safe guarding, First Aid and Coaching Qualification at all times.

Required Skills for the Role:

- Excellent communication and people skills
-Awareness and understanding of safeguarding practise and policies
-The ability to deliver high customer care
-Problem solving, time management and organisational skills are essential
-familiar with technology for a range of purposes such as invoicing, preparing registers, class scheduling etc

Essential Qualifications/Equipment

LEVEL 1 BJA Coaching award and working towards BJA LEVEL 2
DBS
First Aid
Safeguarding
Insurance with Sports Coach UK
Driving License with own Vehicle *This Vehicle must be large enough to transport Judo Mats and Kits.* Our coaches use vans such as Kangoo, transit connect or people carriers such as Vauxhall Zafira*

′′ UNESCO has confirmed Judo as the best starting sport to train children and young people from 4 to 21 years old.
Advantages for the child: with an assiduous practice of Judo develops his strength, speed, flexibility, coordination, reflections, focus, balance, resistance, personality, self-confidence themselves and the knowledge of their own body.
Due to constantly changing situations in Judo practice, the child is forced to stimulate his ′′ tactical reflection ".
Judo doesn't encourage aggression; through its relationship with its mates, the child learns to collaborate, respect and develop self-mastery.
Judo is practiced without kicks, punches or punches generally in its early stage, which is safer for children as they begin martial art practice.
Even if it's a martial art originally, Judo conveys culture and traditions in its practice such as respect, discipline, emotional balance, and introduces many other values into children's daily habits.
Useful information about Judo:
It's a school sport, with everything it stands for.
It is an Olympic sport.
It's a mandatory subject for INEF students [French STAPS equivalent]
It's a sport whose practice is recognized by UNESCO as the most recommended for children over the age of 4
UNESCO recommends Judo as the best starting sport to train children and young people and to be proposed in all schools.
