The last 6 months have been hectic...lots of baking alongside side caring for my family and a new part time job. Looking ahead at the celebrations cakes I already have booked in my diary before our Autumn holiday, and planning for that big jolly upcoming season I have decided to close my diary for 2024. Thank you everyone for your orders this year, I will start to post my favourite cakes so far and will be announcing some events in the run up to December! 🧁💞

Wow March has been manic so far! In the last three weeks I've made 188 cupcakes and enough cake to serve 140 people! Thank you to everyone who ordered celebration cakes from me. I'm going to be taking a little break from baking for a few weeks now to recover 🧁😊💞

APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE FOR THE LONG POST: The price of butter and other ingredients has risen rapidly over the last few months. On average I use 650g of butter on a 6” drip cake, this is an increase of 10% for just one ingredient, before factoring in the increasing costs of electricity for baking and fuel for shopping. I understand that we are all being hit by these crazy prices rises, but please understand you are not just buying a cake, but a handmade bespoke product that has taken a lot of time, skill and effort to make on top of purchasing the ingredients, decorations, boards and boxes. National minimum wage in the UK currently stands at £9.50 per hour….although making cakes is my hobby and I love doing it, I am running a business to help provide for my family so should receive this as a minimum for every cake I plan, design and create. I am trying my best not to pass these price rises onto my customers so please understand that the quotation I give you for a bespoke custom cake will be the best price that I can offer at this time. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to creating your celebration cakes in the future.

Our Story

I am Fiona Leary, Proprietor of Parties & Cake. After many years of being a Personal Assistant to a Director in a large organisation, where I was involved in organising many corporate events, I settled down to have a family. With three children and a busy household, returning to the 9 to 5 office became rather difficult.

I’ve always had a love for entertaining and baking, and after many years of hosting many children's parties and family events, I decided to turn my passion into a career. Friends and family have been full of praise over the years and will be happy to know I have finally decided to follow their advice, and my heart!

I am extremely proud of my children and value my time at home with them. I am involved with their school’s PTFA where I help co-ordinate fund raising events. I am a Slimming World member and love cooking new healthy recipes for my family, but cakes are definitely my weakness!

I have completed the Food Safety Certificate and hold a 5 star hygiene rating. I assure you that I provide a friendly, professional service to help you along the way with your special occasion.
