Today we released the peacocks, after 8 weeks in a pen getting used to their new home. They had a little wonder and met some of the locals, before heading off to see what else is around. Hopefully they'll be back for breakfast tomorrow morning!

Looking forward to the Fly Culture Magazine Gathering this evening 6-9pm in the lower field at The Fox and Hounds Country Hotel. There'll be beers, a barbeque, talks, advice and good company. We hope to see you there!

Great to see that Rosemoor are allowing dogs again, at least on a trial basis until September 17th. Dogs are permitted Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and there are some restricted locations and a maximum of two dogs per person. Please see their site for details, but this is great news for anyone looking for a great day out who may not have been able to previously go due to the dog policy.

🐾 We're pleased to announce that we're extending access for dog walkers on our dog friendly days to allocated outdoor tables on our Garden Restaurant terraces and outdoor tables at the Wisteria Tea Rooms. The toilets near the Tea Rooms will also be available for dog walkers. Dogs are permitted to cross the Stream Field lawns for access to benches and we will be increasing the availability of watering points and bins throughout the garden.

Tom picks up his 29th little brown trout for the day - it's a tough life working at at the Fox & Hounds! Fishing has been excellent this May with more than 350 brown having been safely returned.

Tom has dramatically taken the lead in our light hearted competition. In our continuing Tom vs Matt series we each choose 5 flies each month and be talking about our set ups, approaches, favourite beats ad how we fish them. Wow! What an amazing few days we've had hosting the Dachshund Days Weekend. With more than 50 adorable Dachshunds, 80 guests and 15 speakers and exhibitors, we've all have a truly wonderful and unique weekend!

Over the next day or two we'll be gathering all the great photos and media from the weekend and putting together a gallery of the weekend, which we'll post or link from the event page.
