Looks like we'll get lucky with the weather again this year for our Dog Friendly Bonfire Night. No rain and a mild evening forecast. Otis and Barney have run around the bonfire at least 100 times and report that everything is looking good! If you're in the area, and fancy a big bonfire with no bangs or fireworks, and perhaps a burger or hotdog, feel free to drop in. We'll be starting things off around 18:30 this evening 🙂🐶

DOG FRIENDLY BONFIRE - 6:30PM WEDNESDAY 5 NOV
Otis and Oreo have tested and approved out the puppy play area ahead of our Dog Friendly Bonfire evening this Wednesday. A huge thanks to neighbour Marc Price of All Terrain Flail & Vegetation Management for this year's wonderful bonfire and grounds.

Attendance is FREE, but please let us know if you're planning to come along to help us plan food and drink :)

Several days of settled weather has finally turned on the fishing and we're enjoying returns in the mid-teens again. Following a dry August and a wet start to September, the river is in great condition and it's wonderful to have the fishing to match!

Just a very quick hello from our new dog at The Fox & Hounds, Otis. He's a 9 week old Bernese Mountain Dog / Standard Poodle cross and is quickly settling into his new home. His favourite hobbies are napping, being cute and getting into trouble 🥰

Just a reminder that we will be closed for lunch this Tuesday and Wednesday for the fitting of a Fire Suppression System in our kitchen. We are open for coffee, but all kitchen-related activities will be unavailable 9:30-5pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Our August Fishing Report is out, together with our predictions for the best flies to use in September.

The recent rains have refreshed the river and we've started to get some decent returns again, including the occasional sea trout.

With less than a month to go in the season, we hope that you'll be able to join us for a day or two on the river. Fishing can be added to any stay and our Fishing Break package includes dinner, bed and breakfast, as well as fishing for just £159/night.
