Henry and Hamish have been enjoying the wonderful weather we've been having throughout November to make the most of their daily walks together. Even with the bit of overnight snow we had, today turned into another lovely crisp, sunny afternoon!

Thanks to everyone who came out to share in the fun of our Dog Friendly Bonfire Night. The weather was perfect and even the traffic closures in the area cooperated! It was lovely to see friends and neighbours and to meet some new faces. We all had a lovely evening and we hope you did too!

UPDATE. If you are coming to our dog friendly bonfire night tonight the Eggesford roadworks are open from Lapford/Crediton/Exeter direction! 🔥 🐕

Join us for a quiet night out at our Dog Friendly Bonfire Night at The Fox & Hounds Country Hotel on Tuesday 5th November from 6:30pm.

From what we've been able to tell, there shouldn't be too much in the way of fireworks displays in the immediate area, so we thought we'd have a little get together, where dogs can come along.

We're having a bonfire in our lower gardens and we'll have a little bit of warm food and some drinks available. There's no charge to come along and just a small charge for food & drink, if you want any, to help cover costs.

This is a family friendly and dog friendly event and we hope you'll be able to pop for an informal get together on Bonfire Night.

Ahead of our Dog Friendly Bonfire Night, neighbour Marc Price of All Terrain Flail & Vegetation Management came over with his amazing machine that seems to plough through anything and mulch it down to nothing. The lower field is looking great and we're building up the burn pile and getting everything ready for the 5th. We hope to see you there!

A big thank you to all the families who came out yesterday to do pumpkin carving at the Fox & Hounds. Our local youngsters really have some amazing creative talent! Lindsey, who organised the event was worried we'd run out of pumpkins, but we had one left over, so she got to carve one too!

Don't forget we have our Dog Friendly Bonfire Night coming up on the 5th of November. We hope to see you there and do please let us know if you're come so we can properly plan for numbers.

The Fox Club sandwich at the Fox and Hounds, Eggesford. Our triple layered toasted sandwich with local bacon, succulent chicken, lettuce, tomato and a fine mayo. A perfect winter warmer with a Sandford Red.

We're open all day everyday. Lunch served daily 12.00 until 3.00pm.

Classic cars often visit the Fox & Hounds. Tomorrow, Saturday 28th September we are lucky to have a Porsche Club UK meet.

A stunning 27 Porsches are assembling at the Fox and Hounds at 9.30am until 10.30am. If you are popping by to see the spectacle please park in the overflow carpark.

Lucky enough to spot this little guy down on the River Taw near the hotel while out for an evening fish. In the past few weeks we've spotted otters, kingfishers and herons - all while having the best season's fishing in years. Hopefully this points to a healthy ecosystem returning - and it certainly makes for some wonderful days out on the river!

Tom proves you can catch lovely brown trout in the middle of a sunny, beautiful day as he releases this great looking fish just a few minutes ago on one of our many beats on the River Taw. The river is in perfect condition and the whole of the valley is in bloom, with the smell of wild garlic in the air. A perfect day to be out!
