Hummingbird's Photography I am a professional photographer specialising in portraiture. Spearheading 'Hidden Figures of the South West'. I am also an Enterprise Scholar.

Fuelled by an unhealthy tea addiction and entrepreneurial determination, I have spent over ten years studying and working in the Photographic industry and hold various qualifications in the field. In 2021 I graduated with a First Class Honours in BA Film, Photography and Media (Ent) from the University Of Leeds. I am often drawn to projects that make a difference. This includes a collection of por

traits titled 'The Sunflower People' that gave Cancer survivors a chance to feel beautiful and tell their story. I specialise in Portrait Photography but my expertise extends into many nuances within the creative industry. My broad creative skill set and substantial knowledge base gives me the tools to make your experience, and the resulting photographs, the best they can possibly be.

FREE ENTRY. 'Hidden Figures of the South West' is a portrait collection showcasing individuals in underappreciated professions in the South West of England.

Brought together by photographer Caitlin Pharoah of Hummingbird's Photography, these professions include conservationists, traditional artisans, artists, and many others, each contributing uniquely to our world.

Every year, skills and knowledge passed down through generations disappear before they can be preserved for the future.

Together, we can change the ending of this story.

Join Devon-based photographer Caitlin Pharoah for an exclusive evening celebrating her new book and exhibition, Hidden Figures of the South West.

The project features over 150 portraits honouring individuals in under-recognised professions — from conservationists and traditional artisans to artists and makers — whose skills and contributions risk fading into obscurity. Each portrait is paired with words written by the ‘Hidden Figures’ themselves, revealing powerful human stories behind often-overlooked lives and crafts.

The evening includes a private viewing of the exhibition, a talk and Q&A with Caitlin, and the opportunity to have your copy of Hidden Figures of the South West signed.

'Hidden Figures of the South West' was only the start of the journey. Its growing success further proves how important projects like this are.

The South West will continue to be featured, but my quest to cause chaos and positive change is taking me up North.

I have no doubt that the moors will be filled with the haunting and enthralling cries of many Morris sides tonight. I have had the pleasure of meeting and photographing numerous Morris dancers, but the attire and makeup of Beltane Border Morris are truly unforgettable!

Sarah Jane Otton is an inspiring individual who works as a Community First Responder when she is not performing with her fellow Morris dancers.
