It is with a heavy heart that I have had to cancel the first ever ghost hunt at the Never Say Die. I’m currently struggling with vertigo and it is not safe for me to walk around and definitely not safe to try to host guests in the dark. This is only postponed! I’m determined to investigate this venue. Watch this space. Thank you for your understanding.

As we approach this festive time, and all await the spirits of Christmas past, present and future to appear, I’m wondering what your worst and best ghost hunt experiences are? I will start.
Best has got to be East Drive, Pontefract. Around 15 people with the whole house to explore. So well run. Experiments to try. Activities offered to try. Actual equipment given out. Loved it.
Worst was Kelveden Hatch. Started an hour late because they were booking more people in. Couldn’t do anything because there were so many people crammed into each room. Given two metal sticks to hold and tap together to ‘call spirits to you’. Organiser tried to force people to do things they didn’t want to do saying ‘it’s for the sake of the group’. Friend questioned something and was rudely told ‘you don’t know what you are talking about’ (she had done maybe 50+ hunts by this time). Left feeling robbed of time and money.
Anyone else got any stories? Good and bad.
Please feel free to name the good companies but please, please, please don’t name the bad companies, everyone has a bad day. Kindness always. Thank you

Ok, short rant. I was asked today about what we do on a ghost hunt and told ‘I’m nervous about coming on my own because I was made to do a recording in a room on my own and didn’t want to’.
Firstly, we will NEVER insist, coerce, push or bully anyone into doing anything that they don’t want to.
We will support you, as much as we can, with whatever you want to try. If you want to do a lone vigil then we can help with that but never make you do anything you are uncomfortable with.
We will not allow anything that puts anyone at risk but we are open to trying new ideas, as we have always said, it’s group led. If you want to come on your own, we will make sure you are included as much or as little as you want. Just there to watch, no problem. Want to get stuck in and try everything, great. You are OUR GUEST and the event is for YOU. We have enough real equipment for everyone who wants it. In all walks of life, no one should ever make you do something you are not comfortable with. If you are interested in a ghost hunt, ours or others, you should always be happy with the situation or free to leave for as long as you need to. Anything less is unacceptable. 😡
