It feels a little strange talking about weddings so close to Christmas, so we thought we’d share a few images that really sum up the barns over the years.

From rain-soaked evenings, misty mornings and fiery sunsets across the fields, these moments capture Long Furlong Barn just as it is. Unpredictable weather, changing light, and spaces that work beautifully, whatever the day brings.

One of our favourite moments at Long Furlong Barn is when everyone comes together for that one photo. All your people, in one place, creating a memory that will last a lifetime.

We adore the way our rustic old Granary frames moments like this, standing quietly in the background, holding stories from years gone by, while welcoming brand new ones. It’s impossible not to smile, knowing this old barn has seen so much love and celebration.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again… memories really are woven into the fabric of these buildings, and this photo captures that feeling perfectly.

When it’s cold outside, the party vibes are definitely inside.

Unlike some barns, we party all year round, and winter is when we really come into our own. The lights are glowing, the music’s up, and everything feels extra cosy and full of atmosphere.

Here’s why parties, prosecco and Long Furlong belong together:

- Fairylights are everywhere! They absolutely come alive in winter, creating the dreamiest backdrop for your party photos.

- Bar and band in the same room. No split spaces here. We keep everyone together because full dance floors don’t happen by accident.

- Keep the heels ON! Our barns are interconnected, so it’s prosecco on arrival and dancing in the Granary without stepping outside (or sacrificing the shoes you’ve been waiting all day to wear).

OK, so we’ve seen the sunsets, but what about the night skies?

One of the best-kept secrets of Long Furlong Barn is just how dark and unspoilt our evenings are.

Once the sun dips behind the Downs, the whole place opens up to this huge, quiet, star-filled sky with no city glare or harsh lights, just pure countryside calm.

A few little night-time tips:

• Step outside for five minutes between dances because the stars really show off when your eyes adjust.
• Let your photographer play with backlighting to create silhouettes that look dreamy.
• Embrace the quiet moment because night photos often end up being couples’ favourite part of the day.

Sunsets bring the glow, but the nights here bring the magic.

After the wedding breakfast, there is the sunset.

If you didn't know, the Granary retains its original threshing doors, designed for large trucks to drive through and collect grain. These beautiful doors now collect the sunshine, flooding our beautiful barns as the sun moves east to west.

It’s the perfect moment for golden-hour photos, where history, light and love all come together.

Winter Sunsets: Let’s get the facts.

Long Furlong Barn does them ridiculously well, even in winter. And because the days are shorter, here are a few super simple tips to make sure you squeeze every drop out of that gorgeous golden hour.

• Go a little earlier than you think because winter sunsets don’t hang around. Aim to head out about an hour before the listed time.

• Bring something cosy, such as a wrap or jacket. Keeping yourself warm between shots will make you feel better and look more relaxed.

• Stay close to the venue. The courtyard and surrounding fields have all the backdrop you need, without a long walk in the cold.

• Don’t fear the clouds! Winter skies often produce the best colours when it’s a bit moody. Trust the sky to do its thing.

• Grab a drink for the photos because, honestly, a glass in hand always adds to the moment.

• Lean into the winter vibe because the light is softer, the colours are richer, and the whole thing feels extra romantic.

Winter sunsets here are pure magic. They may be short and sweet, but they are completely worth chasing.
