Dean Light
A renowned chef with more than 24 years in the industry, having honed his skills over the course of many years in the industry. He has worked in some of the most prestigious restaurants in the country and has received numerous accolades for his innovative and creative approach to cooking.
he started off at the Hilton on Park Lane London giving him a real insight in to what the catering industry is all about. he found out very early on that I had huge passion for creating distinct and colourful dishes that I always seem to hit the fine line of flavour balance and the togetherness of each dish, this is very unique as this also tests the customers pallet to the full.
Over his career that has spanned out to some of London’s most prestigious and exclusive establishments and in some of London’s most toughest and sort after kitchens his repertoire had grown immensely; so he went on to head up his own kitchen as a personal chef to some of the most high profile music bands and celebrities. Then diversifying to run a large and exclusive events company where this really got my repertoire working as every day an event was different and I love the fact of working with potential clients in designing their bespoke menu for their event.
8 years ago, Dean started up his own event catering company D’Lights Event Cateringin which he says has gone from strength to strength. He emphasises the importance of using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and of taking the time to understand the unique flavours and textures of each ingredient and is constantly experimenting with new techniques and flavour combinations, always striving to create new and exciting dishes that will surprise and delight his guests and clients for his company. He described his approach to cooking as a combination of art and science, with a deep understanding of the chemistry and biology of food playing a crucial role in his creations.
