✨ THE EXTRAS ✨

Flowers don’t just have to be placed on tables for your wedding, so if you want to get creative (and your budget allows!) let me share some ideas with you.

This post is all weddings at but all of these ideas are transferrable to other locations. Most of the photos are my own but I have tagged the photographers of those that are not.

1 and 2. A simple foliage and gyp garland adorns the marquee entryway to make a beautiful welcome and this was later removed and placed along the top table

3 and 4. Maybe your venue has some marquee poles that you could drape flowers up or wrap a garland around.

5 and 6. Hoops make for a simple yet effective backdrop or way to dress up a blank space.

7. Maybe there’s a ledge that you could dress up even with a simple foliage garland, like this one above the fireplace that the top table was placed in front of.

8, 9 and 10. Meadow arrangements are super popular right now and they can be placed on ground level in a space that needs a little colour

11 and 12. How about an arch as a photo backdrop? This wedding had a church ceremony where an arch didn’t work so the couple chose to have one instead of a photo booth

13 and 14. Maybe you have a side table for your cards/gifts/guestbook that would be finished off perfectly with some fresh blooms in a little vase

15. Maybe your welcome sign, table plan or order of the day would benefit from a little floral decor 🌷

Lauren and Bobby were married on 18 October 2024 at Vaulty Manor. They chose a classic and beautiful colour palette of white and green for their flowers which included roses, lisianthus and astilbe. Their ceremony decor was kept simple with a long and low and aisle petals, with elegant candle centrepieces surrounded by flowers. The pro photos are courtesy of Kristian Lissimore Photography. ✨ VAULTY MANOR ✨

I’m proud to be a recommended supplier at and I’ve dressed this beautiful venue for so many lovely weddings. The unique thing about this venue is that the tables are oval, rather than round or long banquet style, so you can get quite creative with how you decorate them to fill the space. A round centrepiece will of course still work, but arrangements can be asymmetrical to complement the length and you can extend the design with extra bud vases or simple tealights.

A moment of appreciation for the simple bud vase ✨

I love bud vases, there are so many pros to having them as a centrepiece:

✨ They’re so dainty and pretty, whether you group together lots of them or just three (odd numbers are usually better)

✨ I’ve built up quite the collection of different sizes, patterns and colours all available for you to hire so you don’t have to spend hours and hours trawling the shops trying to find nice glassware

✨ You can keep the flowers after the wedding - they’ve been in water all day so they won’t stop looking good at midnight so you can enjoy them after the wedding is over

✨ They’re perfect if you have a lot of other “stuff” on your table - scroll to photo 3 and see how much room you’re left with once you’ve got all your wine, teacups, favours etc

✨ Ok yes they don’t add huge impact to a room but if you have a gorgeous venue such as that has so much of its own character you don’t need that. Plus by being low designs people can actually appreciate the flowers while they’re eating their dinner

✨ They’re budget friendly - depending on how many you have and what flowers you use bud vases vary from just £10-£20 each which includes the hire cost!

Looking back through some photos earlier in the week to update my testimonials highlight I found these photos of Sarah and Martin’s wedding back in May 2018 and I remembered just how much I loved decorating their church! We dressed the altar screen with natural, loose foliages and clusters of blooms in their colours of peach, pink and lilac. As a recommended supplier at Houchins I have created so many beautiful weddings at this stunning venue, and with multiple ceremony areas there are so many ways to make your wedding unique and special.

Whether you get married under the marquee, indoors or out by the lake there are so many ways to dress each area with beautiful florals. You may want a statement backdrop or arch, flowers on the chairs, lanterns down the aisle, petals or bud vases, and even better - [for the most part] you can move all these arrangements into the reception barn afterwards to really maximise your budget.

Are you planning your wedding and stuck on ideas for centrepieces? Or do you like a couple of different ideas and don’t know how to choose? Or want all tall arrangements but don’t have the budget?

I love when my couples mix and match their centrepieces, whether that’s for a few different low designs they like or half tall and half low centrepieces to be more budget friendly. It adds interest at different levels and it gives you more options for gifting your flowers after the wedding. I often hear from couples that they can’t picture how it will look so hopefully these images will help ✨

Thank you to everyone who has collected a wreath or kit today, please tag me in your photos as I love to see them on your doors! I have more collections tomorrow and then an afternoon of deliveries and then we’re almost all done! My next task is fresh arrangements for my family home and also designing next year’s wreaths. Here she is, my own wreath for this year 💗 isn’t she a beauty?! I found these aubergine coloured trees while I was in France at the weekend so they became the focal point, with hops I foraged a few weeks ago by the river and dried honesty from the garden. A few pink berries and some artificial blackberries add a little bit of glamour and alllllll the ribbons because I couldn’t decide on just one 😂 and the beautiful wire lettering is from @blackandsigi 💖
