We have over 30 years' of experience creating wedding day dreams and can accommodate 150 day guests and 250 evening guests. Set in twenty acres of grounds, complete with a cocktail terrace and croquet lawn, Clearwell Castle is embedded within the romantic Forest of Dean and offers an enchanting venue for your wedding day. Make your way through the forest and notice the magnificent facade, which af

fords picture-perfect photo opportunities. Despite its elegance and grandeur, this Gloucestershire venue is warm and ready to welcome you. The church-like Ballroom boasts a 75-foot-long aisle, raised dais and leaded windows. Alternatively, couples can opt for an al-fresco affair on the bandstand with their very own Castle backdrop. Fine dining follows, with our team of in-house chefs able to create menus to suit any taste, with hand-picked house wines available to complement the exquisite wedding breakfast. The modern Cellar Bar has been designed with your evening reception in mind and offers a contemporary setting to end your night in further celebration. The addition of The Wyndham just a short stroll away means there are now an additional twenty-four bedrooms (and bar facilities) on top of the fifteen Castle bedrooms for your wedding night. If one night is not enough, you can upgrade and stay for two!

James & Faye's style is unmatched - elegant and effortless!

Its not so often that you witness one of your good friends getting married, so words don’t come as easily in writing about the day from a photographer's perspective. I think I’ll go with mate on this occasion.

I met James in 2021 whilst embarking on a personal photo project about male athletes and masculinity. We hit it off immediately - what was meant to be a 5 minute phone call turned into an hour or two, as it quite frequently still does. We also realised we lived just 4 minutes away from each other (at the time) and our friendship grew quickly over the next few years. Just like the first time I spoke to him, the same is true now - his warmth and enthusiasm for life is unrivalled and I’m over the moon that he has met his equal in the wonderful Faye.

Their wedding at Clearwell Castle ‘my massive Castle for the day’ was an intimate celebration, of which I was very honoured to be a part of. Jim, keep looking at Faye the way you do and you can’t go wrong. All my love to the both of you x

A day full of love, laughter, and fireworks at Clearwell Castle in Gloucestershire, right by the Welsh border. From the morning excitement of everyone getting ready in the castle, to the wonderful bridesmaids making the morning so special and the groom’s team holding it together (just about!), the day was full of emotion.

The outdoor ceremony was picture perfect, followed by drinks on the lawn with the castle standing proudly behind everyone. Dinner in the elegant dining room set the scene for heartfelt speeches before the party truly kicked off. And to top it all off? A spectacular fireworks display lighting up the main lawn – the perfect ending to a magical day.
