Just wow. So dare I say this was my first dried flower wedding, which I was a tad nervous about! But gosh it turned out better than I could have ever expected 🪄
Pink bridesmaid bouquets
Rustic home made flower girl wands
The most gorgeous colorful yet elegant bridal bouquet
Lots of little mini dried bunches for pews
And two whimsical romantic dried urns.

And I think I’m now converted to dried flowers after a love hate relationship with them in the past!

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Clifford, you were a dream to work for and the results were amazing.

Did some one say carnival!?!… 🎡
My entry for the shop window this year, is a take on Van Gogh “Sunflower” can you tell!?
All home made, and even painted by my fine hands (begging for votes 🗳️)
If you like what you see, please vote!!!! Voting slips are in the Colyton shops and to be put in the box outside the town hall.
All credit to my lovely accountant CRW for another brilliant window, it’s also one to look for!

The Colyton Garden shop and Amy’s cafe are now stocked with fresh flowers for the week ahead.
Please note parish petals is now closed as we take our week off in Italy 🇮🇹

S A R A H 🌸👰‍♀️
What a day! A scorcher for a lovely Devon wedding ☀️
Starting with the glorious Southleigh church which I adore working at, a pink welcome arch followed by romantic flowing florals.

On to Harbour Axmouth for a pink country garden theme reception styled and all grown by myself and Lower cownhayne flowers.
Chair covers and blush pink sashes provided by myself, and cake also decorated by meee (if not nervously and last minute 😆)

The bridal party flowers, a large blousy feminine bouquet and smaller bouquets to complement. Pretty flower girl wands and lots of pink rose button holes.

Congratulations Sarah and Alex on your magical day. 🥰

P O L L Y ⛺️ 🌈 N I C 🤍💚 Two wonderful weddings today and oh so different!! Starting the early morning in lovely Lyme for the beautiful Polly having a festival of color in her gorgeous garden. Polly created her own arch with the help of my flowers 👏🏼 Moving on to the gorgeous Nic with her elegant greens and whites over in sidmouth. Congratulations to both couples you’ve been dreams to work for. 🩵

J U L Y 👰‍♀️ Two of this week’s beautiful weddings 🪄 I had the honor of working along side the lovely freelancing for the beautiful wedding, vibrant colorings along side a rustic vibe complimented their magical day. Yesterday I traveled down to the gorgeous to dress the venue in romantic whites and classic style of eucalyptus and roses. Massive appreciation to for a stunning display of cake and florals 👏🏼😍 congratulations to both the new couples on their newly married lives 💜

June 3rd - 9th 2024 🤩
It’s back, the week to celebrate British flowers and what they mean!

British flowers to me is smelling the freshness, smelling their true scent, and their bold vibrant colors.
You may ask why I promote British flowers as much as i do, here’s some insight to what British flower week stands for.

🇬🇧Air miles, you also hear me drum on about no air miles! But what does this mean?- It means your whole sale florist flowers, flowers in supermarkets and garages are from as far as Kenya and South Africa and even Asia! Yes they are also heavily from the Netherlands, this means your flower has taken a long trip. To sustain the trip and keep fresh, the flower will have been chemically treated in Ethylene.
British growers as a rule won’t use and don’t need to use any chemicals to keep their flower alive, it’s simply cut conditioned and used to order.
More UK florists are getting in English grown flowers, and also supporting local growers in seasonal times.

🇬🇧 What growing flowers can do to the planet?..
By growing your own blooms, your feeding into the eco system. Not only with the soil, Your feeding bees, butterfly’s even bats!
Growing flowers releases oxygen and absorbs carbon dioxide. It’s a food source and is supporting your ecosystem.

🇬🇧 The quality of a home grown flower is unmatched. It won’t have a super straight stem, it’ll have a bouncy whirly unusually pretty stem, it’ll be heavily scented, in some cases it’ll be a bigger flower head with more interesting layers.
They won’t be wrapped in plastic, they’ll come in recycled paper as natural as they can be.

🇬🇧And lastly, shopping local. You see it every where- support local businesses, “use it or loose it” But by doing this your also helping the economy, your again reducing carbon footprint but not only that your supporting a sole trader who is taking that income fully where they’ve worked hard for.

If you can do one thing this week, buy a local flower, plant a pack of a seeds, watch a bee 🐝 land on a bloom.
And think of how incredible a British flower can be.

Summer has arrived at the The Gerrard Arms, Colyton Devon 🌸 ☀️
The hanging baskets are up, and the sun trap beer garden has been transformed with Devon grown cottage garden blooms.
All plants grown by myself, Lower cownhayne flowers and M.G Webber Honiton.
Head down and try out the new menu 🥘 and enjoy the newly designed garden 🪴
