Team Congleton A community sports programme. President of Team Congleton is Ann Brightwell MBE, 1964 Olympic 800m Gold medalist and Britain's first female track medalist.

Team Congleton is a successful community programme launched in 2009 to encourage sporting and cultural activities throughout the town. Team Congleton wants to involve and motivate the people of congleton through a series of special 2012 celebratory events to maintain our place in Olympic history. Team Congletons journey kicks off with Ann Packer,MBE, running the final stage of a 60 mile relay conv

eying a special celebratory message from the Mayor of Much Wenlock (the birthplace of the modern Olympics!) to his Congleton Counterpart. Thereafter, Team Congleton will launch a succession of 'Olympic themed' activities designed to attract individuals, teams, schools, societies and cultural organisations. Our ambition is to create a fun, competitive spirit and establish a community bond with the auspicious events taking place in London. Vice President is Robbie Brightwell MBE, Olympic Silver medalist and 1964 Olympic Team Captain.
