Ok everyone here is the last concert of our Winter season. The Christian Garrick Quartet . Quite a few of you will be familiar with Christian as the front man of The Budapest Cafe Orchestra and his sublime playing on the violin. He is joined by one of the UK's jazz guitar greats - John Etheridge . John has been a long time member of the Jazz fusion band "Soft Machine" and has collaborated with so many people and was Stephane Grappelli's guitarist for several years. Chris and John will be joined by Jezz Cook on guitar and Andy Crowdy on Double bass to make up the quartet.
This wonderful swinging show not only evokes the tradition of the great Hot Club Of France, featuring such favourites such as Sweet Georgia Brown, I Found A New Baby and Nuages, but it also detours into the more adventurous territories of Hendrix, Peter Gabriel and even Dollar Brand
This will be a wonderful way to round up the season.

Happy New Year everyone. Our next concert was to have been our good friend and regular Rod Demick with Jackie McAuley but we have had to postpone it. After a ring round and emails to agents and musicians we have come up trumps !
Will & Jenn are astonishingly brilliant musicians , Will Pound plays Melodeon and Harmonica ( quite literally your jaw will drop !)
Jenn Butterworth was here in November with LB Salter and we are very pleased to welcome her back to the Institute , Jenn is a major player in the Scottish music scene, a previous winner of " musician of the year" at the Scottish trads.
Please get in touch or get your tickets online (available on Monday) Will & Jenn will be a great opener to 2024.
Rod and Jackie will be slotted into a new date soon.

The Christmas Market is now open unfortunately we don’t have any food vans today as they have both broken down but we have lots of stalls to get your last minute gifts and of course Santa is here all day 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻 open all day until 5pm.

I’ve just received a lovely card from Coniston C E Primary School HSA after their fantastic performance of A Hint of Snow White was held at The Institute yesterday.

It was a brilliant show and it’s exactly what the Institute is there for, for the community to use.

Well done to Lucy in particular for all her hard work and to all involved 👏🏻👏🏻

Well it’s nearly here! 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻 - The Christmas Market at The Coniston Institute, this Saturday 16th December from 10am until 5pm, we have lots of stalls selling books, beauty items, hand made gifts and crafts, pottery, food and knitwear. We also have Love Pizza in the courtyard. Come along, get your last minute shopping and have a Christmasy day out.
