With limited dates available between May and late August, you’ll have exclusive use of:

• Our beautiful, historic farmhouse for up to six people including three bedrooms, dining room, living room, kitchen and a private garden with a hot tub.

• Our stunning 18th century barn and spinning gallery - steeped in character and charm - spanning an impressive 90 feet across three levels and licensed to host ceremonies for up to 120 guests. 💛

The summer of ‘24 may have seen record levels of wet weather in the Lake District, but at Yew Tree Farm in Coniston, something extraordinary happened – the sun made a special appearance for every single wedding held at the venue!

Some parts of Cumbria were among the wettest in the whole country in August. It was also the coolest summer for nine years, according to statistics from the Met Office.

Jo McGrath, who runs Yew Tree Farm with her husband Jon Watson, credits their good fortune with a bit of luck.

“I don’t want to tempt fate by saying it out loud, but the sun has come out for every wedding we’ve had this year, despite it being one of the wettest summers I can remember!”

Planning for both wet and dry weather is a key part of their wedding preparations. Melanie Oddy, the farm’s Wedding Co-ordinator added:

“We always have contingency plans in place for all weather conditions. Sometimes we don’t know how it’s going to turn out until the day itself, but even when rain starts off the morning, 80% of the time the sun breaks through, allowing us to switch to the dry weather plan.”

“Our couples generally don’t mind as they’re excited to be getting married and love the beautiful surroundings here, but we’re grateful to the weather gods for shining down on them!”

Yew Tree Farm’s track record for sunny weddings continues to be a delightful mystery amid an unusually wet Lake District summer.. ☔️🌦️🌤️☀️☀️

Weddings are only held at Yew Tree Farm between May and late August.
