A big thank you to The Pod Cafe and Food Union for the loan of a beautifully tranquil space in the heart of Coventry on a summer’s day.

Talented Harriet Rose opened with a set full funky electric chops that had us nodding and swaying.🎸

Next up James Morgan brought bags of alt folk energy and clever banter before we all sang along as Captain Morgan’s pirates.🏴‍☠️

And finally Brum’s Some Honey closed out the show with her unique sweet soul tones which had some of us teary eyed.

Just before our last show at Coventry Boys and Girls Club - Club for young people we caught up with Daniel and Duarte of Cardiff based Lemongel before they presented an ultra tight set featuring their unique fusion of Motown, funk, hip-hop, soul, bossa nova and electronica. Our Sofar Sounds audience then enjoyed a set of as yet unreleased brand new songs. The band's current Citron EP is available to stream right now and you can still grab tickets for our next Sofar Sounds show in Coventry on Sunday 22 June.

When Coventry's brilliant Emma McGann performed at our show at Herbert Art Gallery & Museum late last year we heard the story of how Emma met her soulmate during early recording sessions in the gallery's studio. First as always thanks to our venue Coventry Boys and Girls Club for hosting our show in a knockout space🥊

Opening the show we enjoyed the soft indie folk tones of Sam Lynch from Vancouver.

Next up biting insights from Cambridge’s Luke James Williams as well as leading a singalong.

To close out an amazing show, from Cardiff, Lemongel with their unique fusion sound that is what it is.

Lastly, to our soulmates for turning out and supporting live music💕
