With the sad news that @commonground.cov are closing, we took a trip down memory lane. The video has clips of events from the latest cov sauce back to when Stu and I did a birthday party set for @tom_something_ back in March 22
There’s a final Cov Sauce this Saturday. So go to the Internet and get tickets. (Or come down after The Tin gig for a bit.)
Jon and Kate (and more recently Tom) have allowed commonground to be used once a month since Jan 23 when the first Cov Sauce took place. Since then there’s been over 40 different events there under the banner. It’s hosted so many new djs and electronic music performers, and given lots of people a chance to try new things out.
Thanks to Kate, Jon and Tom for allowing it to thrive and giving so many people a chance. commonground will be missed. But also having somewhere to meet you and catch up will also be missed.
Now it looks like the face of places in Coventry 2025 might be changing. It’s important to keep supporting places where you can.
With this in mind, @thetinmusicandarts is currently fundraising for a bit of a face lift, so consider donating to their fundraiser. Let’s try and keep things going that are offering all these opportunities to people of all ages. The first ever Patchwerk event happened at The Tin before the name Patchwerk existed. Technically… The point being without these kinds of venues, we would be poorer socially, emotionally, joyfully and culturally.
