A slightly rushed video of this plant based and vegetarian buffet (which was left lidded for freshness) I forgot to switch over to the dessert table but we had a lovely selection.
My client was a little worried that some guests would be asking where the pork pies and ham sandwiches etc were but not one person did!
Plant based food is much more widely accepted and as recipe development is so much easier due to choice and availability of ingredients I honestly don’t think that for a buffet people do ‘miss meat’.
If you’d like to discuss your dining requirements just get in touch. 😊
A lovely vegan set up today at Coventry Cathedral, fascinating conversations with some some of the speakers about critical care services and a tour of an intensive care ambulance too.
All set up for an 80th birthday tonight - this was set up lidded to keep the food fresh so you don’t get the full impact of the buffet but it’s always good to see how it looks before the lids come off.
Back at Bishops House with a Green themed menu to remember St John Crysostom.
Guests enjoyed:
Horiatiki ( Greek Salad)
Spanakopita ( spinach and feta filo pastry )
Pita bread and olives
Tzatziki, Hummus, Patzarosalata ( beetroot salad)
Hallumi and roast vegetable skewers with local honey
Patates Yahini ( potatoes and tomatoes )
Fruit tarts
I love that in this video clip you can hear some of the worship in the background.
It was an honour to be asked to cater for the Hiroshima Remembrance Day with a Japanese buffet.
A very full room with a great atmosphere and not a single bite left to eat at the end of service.
Menu in comments.
Guess where I am again? Yes, Bishops House but for the last time now until September.
We went Mexican with a plant based and (nearly) gluten free menu to accommodate the dietary requirements of guests.
After mains we also serve dessert, tea and coffee so everyone really is well fed and watered.
Today we catered for a CofE away day at St John’s Church in Westwood Heath with this lovely plant based and vegetarian buffet.
It’s so good to have developed such a productive relationship with the Church of England who are working towards a net zero target for 2030 and have realised my business supports them in achieving this aspiration.
I’d also like to thank the staff at St John’s for being so accommodating and letting me use their brilliant kitchen.
I consider myself very privileged to work in the way I do.
Another buffet for Bishops House with Umbrian themed food;
Spring Vegetable Pasta with charred lemons
Vegan Garlic Bread
Spelt and Rye Bread with vegan butter
Gnocchi with Pomodoro Sauce
Umbrian mixed bean salad
Anti Pasta
Green salad (I know the Tortilla chips are far from Umbrian but guests always polish them off !)
Chocolate and chestnut tart
I was asked to provide a ‘light bite’ menu for this event with pasta pots and falafel salad pots alongside some firm favourites - samosas, pizza bites and of course brownies and waffles !
Another edible flower cake has been ordered for an 80th birthday. These really are so beautiful and decorating them is so therapeutic.
Tonight we catered at Belgrade Theatre for Open Theatre with a buffet and (not pictured) a selection of cinema treats to finish as the young people at Open Theatre had just debuted a film.
There was so much positive energy in the room and we had so much lovely feedback it barely felt like work!
Today we set up our wonderful womery.
As a business committed to eco sustainability this made complete sense for us to undertake.
We already compost but wanted to go a step further and produce some vermi compost and let these beautiful worms do their thing with some of our vegetable and fruit peelings, tea bags etc
The ‘worm tea’ produced will then help to feed our herb and edible flower garden creating our own little closed loop food system.
We’ve already been peeking in and it looks like these are going to be very productive worms indeed.
Happy wriggly days !
