Such a wonderful event for an amazing charity 🥰

🗨️ “It was our first time back at the hospice since Dad died. I’m so glad we went—it helped us feel connected and not on our own.”

Among those attending Light up a Life yesterday was Leigh Sargeant (fifth from right) from family-owned Jaks Hair and Beauty in Newport, who came with his family to honour his father, Richard, who died in July. “We were nervous because our grief is still so raw,” Leigh shared.

“The event was handled with such sensitivity and care,” Leigh said. “It brought together so many families united in grief, reminding us of Mountbatten’s incredible dedication to caring for our Island when we need it most.”

✨ Generous support from the Island community made the event possible, with contributions from businesses and individuals including Thompsons Garden Centre Newchurch, NDL Event Power Solutions, StageGear Rentals, Graces Bakery, TrebleMakers Children’s Choir, The Salvation Army band,
FYTbus, Quick Traffic Management, Sienna Anderson, Beth Berry, Mountbatten choir, and our wonderful volunteers, among others.
