Who doesn't love fresh produce? To us food miles matter.

This is not only grown 5 minutes down the road but we use it to feed site guests every Friday.

Our weekly menu is never the same for reasons such as this.

Today's menu features this colourful haul directly from the Farm House at Wytch Wood Eco Campsite for my Indian-inspired Wytch Wood Stir Fry.

Looking forward to meeting campers and a few site visitors on this evening's delivery.

We are part of Somerset Food Trail and the booklet highlighting almost 200 countywide farm-to-fork businesses looks fabulous!

I seem to find myself in the most unexpected places.

Today it was waiting for an x-ray at South Petherton Hospital. A super quick process where the staff are friendly and efficient. Last night was an unexpected trip to A&E on a GP referral. I'm ok but it's been a stressful few months, and I am trying to stay on my feet.

However, the sun is shining and the flower beds at the hospital are buzzing and in full bloom.

Whilst waiting for the 3mins (shock horror but this is a brilliant community hospital! I was in and out from my appointment in under 10mins) I had to sit there my eyes I spotted the latest edition of the Conduit Magazine. This month I talk all about serendipity and how life has changed in the last year.

I also give you my Spiced Beef (and Aubergine) Ragu recipe

Has anyone else spotted it? If so where?

Also a massive thank you to all the NHS staff that work the service, you are massively appreciated.

I'm back and at almost a 100%!

I've been out of action for a bit in the background over the last couple of weeks/months.

Thank you to all those that have been patient.

Last night we were at the in and what a brilliant evening it was. The fabulous ladies do a brilliant job of pairing wines with my food, which is different for each pop-up.

Last night I had a little sample of the Alphabetical Extraordinare. It matched wonderfully with my quadruple ginger, cardamom and lemon posset.

More dates for pop-ups at the Vineyards are out soon.

Amazing news! We've been nominated for the best sustainable business in Somerset and Dorset

The Alternative Indian doesn't fit into any of the other categories. But for us has been at the core of our ethos from the start. From zero plastic and tiffin takeaways to using thalis at pop-ups all whilst working with and supporting other local and sustainable businesses. To off-set what we import we support a small NGO in India that works to protect ancient forests from deforestation . We also have a strong zero food waste policy having supported local NHS crews over the years.

If you've not voted yet please vote for us.

Tonight we are at the beautiful alfresco Potting Shed with cocktails by . What a glorious day for it. Hope to see you there

8 year ago we signed a bit of paper and went camping with our closest friends.

It was the first of 2 ceremonies we had. This one was just our parents, siblings and 25 people we hold dear to our hearts.

We had a more traditional Indian wedding 6 weeks later on a beach in Goa.

However, this one was for us and no one else. Happy Anniversary my lovely, I wouldn't want to ride this roller coaster of life with anyone else xx

My first podcast interview is out now.

Not something I ever expected to do. A little I sight into my life and how I came to do what I do. I talk about my career changes - conservation to civil service to running my own business, touching on topics from immigrant mentality, doing things differently, dyslexia, being a south asian female who doesn't fit the norm to mental health.

In the last couple of years, camping came back into 'fashion' due to the travel restrictions that came with Covid. My first camping trip wasn't until my early 20s with a group of uni mates when we travelled from London to Durdle Door for a week's holiday. Since that camping has become something I've loved. So much so that post-wedding registry we went camping with guests to the Sustainability Centre, Petersfield

Last summer I met Matt at Wytchwood Eco Campsite in a serendipitous manner. I had been feeding campers my tiffins on a Friday. I didn't know at the time Matt produced a podcast, and when I got a random email from him a few weeks later through my website I was surprised, to say the least.

It took me a lot of courage not only to take part in the interview itself but then finally giving the going ahead for it to be published gave me a whole other level of anxiety.

I had by then listened to all the other people he had interviewed and I didn't feel up to par. Their stories are amazing and their achievements even more so.

I've finally felt brave enough to call Matt up and ask if it would still ok to publish the interview after so long. Matt thankfully said of course. So here it is. I hope you enjoy it and I am sorry I talk so fast.

Happy Easter and I hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday.

Last night's sweet offerings were my Julab Jamun Cake and Ginger Tiffins.

I honestly wish I had more hands and the capacity to do capture more whilst working.

Yesterday was no exception: cooking all day to feed the lovely people of Sherborne at our Vineyards pop-up last night and this was the only picture I took at the end of the day. The beautiful edible flowers as always come from Sian based just outside Chard.

They went down incredibly well. Even got some who doesn't like rose to give the Julab Jumun Cake a go and got their approval. Not sure what more I could ask for 😁. Definitely starting the bank holiday on a high.

I've not been cooking for anyone but us. And up until the last day or so I've not wanted to smell cooking food or be able to do much at all. The small one has definitely been missing out.

The little one had a special request of 'One of your yummy curries and rice, please Mummy'.

So how could I refuse?

I had some leftover frozen slow-roasted beef...which was a little tough 😒. No better way to soften it up than curried in a pressure cooker for 11 mins. Done with green beans and carrots in a mild tomato curry the beef just falls apart. Served with fluffy basmati rice and salad.

Slowly starting to get back to my old self and 🤞 back in action next week
