It is always said that morning shows the day; meaning the morning weather determines what type of day it will be. Will the day be cloudy, sunnny, wet, or dry? The way the morning is, determines how the day will be.
This week, my writing is on *how to develop emotional intelligence in kids*.
In order to develop emotional intelligence in our kids, we have to do the following:
♤ *Emotional Intelligence in Parents*: We parents need to develop or have high emotional intelligence; that is when we can pass it to our kids.
♤ *Observation and teaching*: It would be great for us parents, to observe our kids developing emotional traits; note, whether they are developing negative emotions like aggressiveness, bulliness, stubbornness, resistance to change, or developing positive emotions like caring, helping, assertiveness, good behaviour, obedience and teaching them to develop the positive emotions.
♤ *Discussion*: Parents should have open discussion about the development of positive emotions with their kids and correct them when they show negative emotional traits.
♤ *Listening with love*: It's great when we listen to our kids compassionately; this helps them to know we love them and it builds their self-esteem and confidence.
*Bonus point :*
♤ *Social skills:* Parents should support their children to develop their social skills like: use of good manners, respect, act of sharing, cooperation, understanding personal space, use of eye contact and following directions.
Finally, it is said that when a child is well trained, when they grow up, they most likely will not depart from it. Training our children is an investment for the future. Give your children good home training and you will be glad you did. 😊 😊
