Winding down after a busy week in Amsterdam for the ECTRIMS Congress. Visited the stunning yesterday to oversee a dinner which took place in the Harmony Room. I absolutely loved this room - it overlooked the lobby/bar area and was dressed beautifully for the dinner. I chose Autumnal toned flower arrangements for the table which helped create a warm atmosphere.
Now to get packed and head home in the morning - just in time for a weekend of Halloween celebrations!

A short few days at the W Amsterdam for a meeting and it was great to catch up with a fab colleague - last time we saw each other was in Brussels, December 2019 so it has of course been a long time since we worked together in person.
Got a packed schedule ahead over the coming months with events in Madrid, Barcelona, Bangkok, Amsterdam (again!), Florida and Singapore before heading for what I’m sure will be a much needed festive break in New York.
Now it’s time to get through a busy Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and crack on with some half marathon training in between events!! 😱 😬 🧳 ✈️

So incredibly sad and such a loss for our country. A lady who committed her life to us and worked literally until the very end. She will never be matched and there are too few like her in this world which makes her passing harder to take. I hope we can all continue to learn from her amazing dedication and hard work for many years to come.

Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth II.

Sun is setting on a stunning day here in Kefalonia. This island is absolutely beautiful - crystal clear seas, gorgeous architecture, amazing food, friendly people, warm sunshine and snorkelling that literally feels like being in a life size fish tank.

Loving a final summer break before a busy Autumn of events begins.

A successful event done and dusted here in Madrid and I’m making my way back home. It’s not been without it’s challenges but overall we’ve had a great few days here and the client and delegates were happy 😊
Managed to see some of the sights of Madrid during the group’s team building exercise yesterday which was great - the sun was shining and the evening ended with a drinks reception at .
The event was held at Castilla Madrid who were absolutely fantastic. It’s been a difficult time for the hotel industry with staffing issues and the ongoing effect of Covid, but I couldn’t fault the hard work and effort of everyone at this hotel - a great place for events and I hope I get to come back some day.
Time to get home now and unwind for a bit - a Congress to finish planning and some virtual meetings coming up but some much needed family time is what I’m really looking forward to after a couple of months of non-stop travel!!

A few sunny days of event management almost done and dusted here in Offenbach, Frankfurt. It’s been a busy week of ups and downs but all in all a pretty successful meeting. A quick turnaround at home later, then onwards to Madrid!!

Good morning Seattle 😁. Up bright and early to get ready for the start of the AAN Congress. This looks like a beautiful city so I’m hoping I’ll get a chance to see the sights at some point this week.

It’s been an incredibly busy week in Barcelona - definitely thrown right back into the deep end of all that can happen when you’re on-site. It’s been successful though and there was nothing quite like seeing the faces of hundreds of people as they recognised and met with work colleagues and acquaintances that they literally haven’t seen for years.
The biggest disappointment was the weather! I always envisaged walking to the Congress in the Barcelona sunshine but it wasn’t to be. Looks as though I might have left it back at home - I can almost smell the BBQ’s as I land back to a sunny Heathrow!!

After two long years I am back on the road travelling for events. There was a time I thought this day would never return, but with a jam packed travel schedule over the next four weeks it seems that things have turned a corner. I’m in Barcelona this week and made the most of a quiet evening at the hotel restaurant before a busy week of work. Hoping for a successful week on-site and to get back into the swing of it quickly!!

It’s been a good week this week, after an increasingly busy month. After a strange start to January filled with postponements and cancellations, things are levelling out now and it feels as though we are breaking through again and can start seeing some change on the horizon. Events aren’t stopping altogether anymore - we’re finding ways to move forward whether that be virtual, hybrid, or meticulously planned in-person.
I had some amazing client feedback this week and whilst I don’t always feel comfortable to ‘blow my own trumpet’ 🤣 I’m really proud to have received this. It’s made my leap back into events over uncertain times feel worthwhile and makes me even more determined to carry on doing my best in this job I love.
Whilst we never know what’s round the corner where this pandemic is concerned, I’m quickly getting bored of thinking about ‘what ifs’ and want to focus more now on finding positive ways to move ahead. I have a LOT to look forward to having been awarded more events off the back of this, and I’m hopeful that my international events work will continue to thrive over the coming months in destinations old and new 💕 ✈️ ⛅️ 🛥 🚕

First full week back at work and it continues to be full of fun and games in the events industry! I’ve sadly had a big event cancel this past week, but thankfully most seem to be postponing whilst we all try to work out what’s next in the Covid saga. The general consensus is that it’ll be better by the Spring - so Q2 is looking a little busier and I hope it stays that way.

I’ve got the gals for company regardless! 😂. Happy Monday all.

Enjoyed a great update meeting today at about a big conference next year that I am planning for a local organisation. Looking forward to getting to grips with all the detailed logistics over the coming months.
Had a quick browse through a very festive looking afterwards too - loving all the lights and decorations!

October has been an epic month for events and I think the whole industry has been working hard through this incredibly busy time. I’m loving it so much - there is nothing like being back and doing the job you love the most. I’ve been focusing on the planning, logistics and ex*****on of 2 virtual meetings, a US/UK hybrid meeting and 10 regional US in-person meetings, all of which occurred this month. On top of that I’ve got an amazing conference here in Oxford next July and I’m looking forward to heading into the city next week to discuss next steps and start making plans.
I wound down a bit on Friday and took my eyes off the laptop for a bit to go shopping and for lunch with my Mum at the and fabulous . Nothing like a superfood salad and a Prosecco to sort you out on a Friday!

If a new diary and a new blue passport aren’t hopeful signs for 2022, I don’t know what is!

It’s been a busy and tiring few weeks planning for 12 in-person and virtual events for October, taking place across the US, the UK and from the homes of those viewing virtual meetings as well as taking part in a virtual pizza making team building activity! I have LOVED getting focused back on the logistics and planning of these events and really missed this element of event planning during the thick of the lockdowns.

I’m keeping hopeful that all being well I’ll be heading to Philadelphia early next year to manage an event on-site - my new passport has arrived and is ready for its first trip!!

Busy getting plans written down in my lush new diary from that arrived this week in its design. Got to love a diary - I’m not one for typing plans into my phone - much prefer to write it down!!

Great to see news of pilots being undertaken around the world that will help to find a way back to the big events and occasions we all love.

The pilot project aims to see if mass Covid testing will allow the return of big events.

Virtual event management survival kit - large tub of Roses, lots of tea and a cat for company! I’ve spent the past couple of nights working late managing a large virtual pharma event for Latin American attendees. It’s been a learning curve to experience this side of event management and all the technicalities that go with it, but everything has gone smoothly and successfully so far. The event restarts again next week so I’m psyching myself up for some more long hours at the desk - can’t say I wouldn’t rather be on-site running this in Brazil but here’s to hoping face to face events will make a return in the near future.

Exactly a year ago today I travelled to Orlando (with a badly sprained ankle) for what would be my last in-person event for the foreseeable future. Whilst I was there, my upcoming events began to cancel one by one, and a few months down the line I had no business left whatsoever.
Hearing today that all social contact restrictions might be lifted in England on 21st June is nothing short of amazing. In just 4 months time our fantastic industry may be able to return, and we might finally be able to enjoy attending and providing weddings and events in groups again. I can’t believe it. This has been such a long time coming and I am so excited for my event industry colleagues. Looking forward to seeing you all grow again and provide your fantastic services, and especially to see the happy faces of Brides and Grooms who can FINALLY say ‘I do’.

A delightful start to the day with breakfast in bed and plenty of Sunday politics!! Grateful to Councillor Laetisia Carter for Thames Valley PCC for highlighting the plight of wedding industry suppliers and couples affected by the ongoing lockdown and lack of roadmap for when these services and rite of passage can resume.
