We are proud to announce that Ribbons & Rose has taken full control of all weddings at Newbattle Abbey through an exclusive contract. After months of preparation, we have finalised the incredible suppliers we will be collaborating with and are excited to officially launch this soon.

Steeped in history, Newbattle Abbey is renowned as the drafting place of the Declaration of Arbroath and features original portraits of regal figures such as King James I and Catherine de’ Medici. The abbey was also frequented by Robert the Bruce, adding to its rich historical significance. Its quaint chapel adds a unique charm to this historic venue.

We are also thrilled to introduce Alluin Bars – premium wedding and event bars that will elevate every celebration.

A huge thank you to the incredible team who contributed their time, talent, and expertise to bring this vision to life, to the wonderful models who played their part so perfectly, and to the exceptional suppliers we collaborated with to make it all possible. Stay tuned for the big reveal!

Since 1937 Newbattle Abbey has been a college providing routes into education to change lives. As a charitable trust and College of Further Education, the college continues to provide access to adults and young people returning to education. This core purpose of the college is serviced by the various activities and partnerships Newbattle Abbey College has developed to generate funds to invest back into education to enrich the lives of its learners.

Jen & Craig’s Timeless Wedding at Carberry Tower

Jen and Craig celebrated their wedding at the historic Carberry Tower, a 15th-century estate rich in history, where Mary Queen of Scots once walked these very grounds. With its enchanting woodland and expansive gardens, Carberry Tower provided a magnificent setting, blending romance with Scottish heritage.

Inspired by the couple’s warm, seasonal theme, Ribbons & Rose supplied a stunning floral palette of deep velvet red roses and vibrant orange chrysanthemums, adding depth and autumnal charm to the decor.

Our team provided styling, prop hire, and a raspberry + lemon buttercream cake for the day, incorporating rustic whiskey barrels and gleaming disco balls for a modern twist within this timeless venue.

Congratulations, Jen and Craig – bringing your vision to life in such an iconic setting was a true pleasure!

All about the florals captured beautifully

For Alanis’ wedding, the floral design was a vision of timeless elegance and sophistication. She chose a stunning blend of white roses, lush garden roses, hydrangeas, and delicate carnations to bring a refined, classic look to her day. Her bridesmaids complemented her style beautifully with staggered white rose bouquets, each one simple yet exquisite.

Connor and his groomsmen echoed the theme with a single, perfectly bloomed rose as their buttonhole, delicately accented with soft ruscus for a hint of greenery. Every floral detail exuded a sense of understated luxury, creating a beautifully harmonious and unforgettable look.

“We had the pleasure of visiting a beautiful venue on the edge of Loch Lomond, offering breathtaking views over the loch.

The bridal party, led by Daisy, created a stunning setup, which we complemented with elegant high centrepieces and striking floral pillars featuring gypsophila, hydrangeas, and roses. We were also honoured to provide bouquets for the bride and her bridesmaids, as well as buttonholes for the groom and his groomsmen.”

“Shonagh had a clear vision for her and Martin’s special day on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.

We were delighted to incorporate the couple’s Lego flowers alongside our fresh florals, combined with delicate origami décor, including 1,000 origami cranes. Drawing inspiration from Ikebana, we styled the floral arrangements to reflect their love of Japanese culture. The result was a unique fusion of Scottish and Japanese aesthetics at the stunning Ardoch venue, with breathtaking views over iconic Loch Lomond.”
