How lucky am I to be a part of very special days in people lives?
For the first time in 4 years I forgot my mother passed away. I sat outside this wonderful place where my Great grandmother worked and said to myself ‘Wait until you tell Brenda’. 💔Quickly realising I can’t, I then thought ‘perhaps she sent me here’. 🤷‍♀️
Strange how things can pan out sometimes.

A lovely lady just posted this.......what are your thoughts on such bravery and facing it?
As someone who is living with a life limiting disease, I have started to clear out my clutter so that when i die my family won’t have to go through so much stuff. I have emptied out my wardrobe to charity shop and paper work is all labelled. Lawyers and the will sorted.
It’s helpful to do just now, not at all creepy. I’ve brought new bedroom furniture so husband will have new memories in our room when I go - I’m getting all the old paperwork thrown out, so they don’t have to figure out what it all means.
My pal Shirley is going through all my old junk under my bed and getting it all cleared out - we have filled bags for the charity shop
This helps the people we leave behind
No questions unanswered
No guessing
And an easier passage for them in grief

Being alone teaches you a lot.

It teaches you to be independent. To get things done, to take care of yourself. To make up your mind, to work hard for your own betterment. To not wait for others to do things for you but do it yourself.

Being alone lets you decide for your own. When things mess up, you can’t justify your own lapses. You can’t blame anyone else because you’re the one making the choices. It teaches you to be accountable.

Being alone helps you know yourself more. How much you can do and how far you can go if you just put your heart on what you’re doing. It makes you realize the things you care about. Your values, your dreams, your triggers. Who you are when you’re on your best and when you’re stressed. It makes you love yourself more.

Being alone is fun, but that doesn’t mean always.

There are also times when you won’t love being alone. Times when you’re body is giving up but there’s no one to take care of you but yourself. Times when you can’t give yourself advice or motivation and you can’t ask others either. Times when you want to share your wins and loses but there’s no one to tell them to. Times when you’re too tired to function but there’s no one else who can do the work. When you have to take care of everything on your own. To shoulder every baggage on your own. Times when you feel so heavy and you just want a tight hug to feel seen and heard or simply matter but the only thing you can do is to sleep over it and wish it fades with your dreams. Times when you feel so distant and disconnected. Times when you feel so alone.

Being alone is freeing, but it sure does involve a lot of crying.

The one thing we do as photographers while we take, cull, process & edit our work is think how we want them to be at the end.
Some look better in black & white and just can't be colour, they don't work as colour. Some look amazing as colour, the bright colours and details would be lost in black and white.
Then some, some work as both and I give them a mix of both too.
But trust me, I always choose the best for the image shown.
If you think id rather it was colour or vice verser just let me know.
Don't be scared to ask, im happy to answer.
Instagram filters are not the way forward I promise :)

Highly recommend Anna Clark did my dads funeral back in November 2022 from comingbthrough my front door to get a bit background about my dad to the actual funeral day she was so professional on the day of service she told my dad's stories to the congregation, she was funny when needed to be and brought smiles and laughter at the times when needed especially announcing one of my dads songs 🎵 thanks again Anna ###
