TONIGHT The Skapones & Guests - Help For Zoey Fundraising Gig

Fundraiser for Zoey Williams, the daughter of Darlington band The Skapones front man Willo.
Four weeks ago, in August 2022, their lives were turned upside down when they discovered that his daughter Zoey, aged 31 was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cervical Cancer.

Tests went on to show that it was not only inoperable, her condition was terminal. Things have moved rapidly since then, with Zoey needing a kidney drain fitted, blood transfusions, radiotherapy and aggressive chemotherapy to keep her comfortable and out of a lot of pain.
The family have felt helpless and trying to help her as best they can.

The funds raised will be given directly to her to help her get by, and to help with transport, shopping, medical trips, and just help her with basic living needs to make her life a bit less stressful.
With support from Darlington Skater Band Wall Ride The Bells and music in the bar from DJ KingBoy D

We are extremely shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of our very dear friend Geert Kroes.

We will cherish the fond memories of the many gigs in The Netherlands, and when we moved to the UK he came over with his band Blind Sight for the" 2008 UK Tour" we had a blast.

This lovely, talented man will be very sadly missed and our thoughts are with his wife, his family and his many friends.

'Rock In Peace' Geert - Your loss will leave a massive hole in so many lives 💔

Vanochtend bereikte ons het nieuws dat de Nederlandse muzikant en designer GEERT KROES op veel te jonge leeftijd is overleden. Geert ontwierp T-shirts voor o.a. Ghost, Slipknot, Slayer, Mastodon, Graspop en zijn geliefde Machine Head.

TONIGHT!!
The Forum is honored to be included on this list of fantastic venues who are hosting the amazing Sick Joy to as part of Music Venue Trust / The National Lottery Tour on Wednesday 27th July.

Cutting together malign heaviness with acidic melody then tying into place with the reigns of contagious pop. Sick Joy's 'noise-pop' blood is dirtied with echoes of Pixies and Nirvana among many others.

The band a fresh from performing at BST Hyde Park alongside Pearl Jam & PIXIES and a performance at the multi-award winning 2000 Trees Festival .

Supporting are wych elm, who play scrappy, menacing and contemplative grungy indie rock with a touch of the macabre.

The band released their second EP ‘Rabbit Wench’ in September 2021 with the singles ‘Scolds Bridle’ and ‘Executioner’ receiving enthusiastic support from Jack Saunders on Radio 1, Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music, John Kennedy on Radio X and KEXP in the US. The EP was well received pushing their total streams to over 2 million on Spotify. Following the release of the EP they joined IDLES and Wet Leg at a sold out O2 Academy Brixton in January 2022.

A night not to be missed!

There’s not many bands that have the respect of EVERYONE on the punk scene. But Charlie Harpers UK SUBS is that exception. Flat Hill Promtions

I started my promotion company Flat Hill Promotions (which is my Dutch married name translated into English) after I moved to The Netherlands from Darlington.

It all started in 1995, where promoted mainly Metal Core and Hard Core Metal bands ( working from my attic when the kids were at school ) and put on at the weekend in a local pub called ‘ Smileys’ with great atmosphere and stage and performance area. That genre was rife in Holland and Germany back then and we would fill the venue every weekend.

After moving back to Darlington I started hiring a venue where I now work The Forum Music Centre to put on bands, mainly tributes . I organized 2 sucessful Punk Festivals there and brought some big name Punk Bands to Darlington, which earned me an excellent r***e from Mr Gary Bushell himself !

I hired the 02 Newcastle on several occasions after becoming a big NWOBHM fan, and hired bands such as Blitzkrieg, who have big fans in the USA called ‘ Metallica’ no less, who went on to record the bands song ‘ Blitzkrieg, written by Brian Ross the bands lead singer, other bands included Elixir & Intense who played to an excellent crowd of NWOBHM fans every time.
