Many thanks to everybody who turned out for Dean Stockdale Jazz Quartet on Friday, and so many of you! It certainly proved to be a very fitting tribute in memory of founding member, Terry Coates. Terry sadly passed away very recently, but his legacy is far from forgotten with the continuation of the thriving Opus 4 club he set up with Noel all those years ago.

Friday's performance proved to be one of the very greatest we have ever had at the club, one which would have seen Terry very proud, especially featuring the music of Oscar Peterson, his top favourite, beginning with his favourite tune of course, catch a bit on the clip posted here!

Thanks also for a very touching tribute to Terry as read out by Ernie at the introduction of the gig. We all raise our glasses to Terry, and also to the future of the club. See you all next month.

Looking forward to seeing Abbie and Co tomorrow!

Excited for tomorrow; 2 great gigs lined up. Performing with John Settle, Mick Shoulder and Dean Stockdale at Bishop Auckland Town Hall 1pm. Then with my trio - Paul Grainger and Harry Keeble at Opus 4, Darlington 8pm :D

Thanks everyone for turning out last night for the amazing Custom House Big Band. Sorry it was a bit of a squish in places for space, but I think that's for obvious reasons..😉

Speedy recovery too to the lovely Ruth Lambert who had been due to perform vocals, though sadly had to cancel due to Covid.

We've a break now for the summer, but look out for our return on 16th September for Mick Shoulder's Quartet, with another return from the exemplary Vasilis Xenopoulos on October 14th!
