My heart was broken a few months ago.
My car was broken into, and among the stolen items was my magic equipment.
I could accept that the sound equipment was taken—those are valuable, easily sold items.
But what truly devastated me was the loss of my magic boxes.
These weren’t just tools of the trade—they were part of my story, my identity as a magician.
I bought my first magic box 12 years ago, just before I went to work in Mallorca.
I loved it so much that I ordered a second one for my winter UK shows.
Both were handcrafted by David Baxter of Made for Measure Magic.
Over the years, they became a constant presence at my children’s shows, senior shows, and wedding fayres.
When they were stolen, I knew their true value would go unnoticed.
I knew they would be quickly thrown away by those who took them, unaware of what they meant to me.
Since November, my performances have felt incomplete.
A piece of my show—and my heart—was missing.
During this time, I was overwhelmed by the generosity of those who contributed to the GoFundMe.
Your kindness helped me replace essential equipment and keep my shows going. I’ll forever be grateful for that support.
Even so, my magic boxes couldn’t simply be replaced—not without the man who originally crafted them.
David Baxter from Made to Measure is now semi-retired, but I reached out to him with hope and desperation.
To my relief, he agreed to come out of retirement to create a replacement.
Yesterday, I collected my new magic box from David’s home in Northamptonshire.
It’s perfect—beautifully crafted, just like the ones I lost.
Thank you, David, i will be forever grateful.
Today, the new box joined me in a show.
And it felt like welcoming back an old friend.
This morning at The Boathouse Braunston was pure Christmas magic! Families began their day with a delicious breakfast, but the real excitement started when Santa himself rang his bell and led everyone into the function room. 🎅✨
For 45 enchanting minutes, Santa shared the story of his incredible journey from the North Pole to their tree—and beyond! The children were absolutely fantastic, especially when helping Santa sort out his sack and the handkerchief that got all mixed up “when Santa got stuck up the chimney!” Their enthusiasm and laughter brought the room to life. 🎄
It’s always an honour to continue the tradition of Santa and bring this festive magic to such a wonderful venue. A huge thank you to The Boathouse Braunston for hosting and to the amazing families who made it a truly unforgettable morning.
