This month’s box contained some Bright colourful blooms , a mix of Eucalyptus, white lilies , campanula, kaffir lilies , Limonium & fountain grass .

~ Flowers from the Farm ~

I’m delighted to announce that we are now part of this amazing organisation. 🇬🇧🌸

Flowers from the Farm is a growing not-for-profit movement with over 1000 active members from Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to Inverness. Our members’ flower farms range in size from micro-businesses on allotments and cutting gardens to sites of up to 6 acres or more.

Flowers from the Farm has three principal aims:
• to encourage more people to grow cut flowers for market in Britain
• to promote British flowers
• and to foster friendship and sharing through meetings, activities and communication.
As recently as 50 years ago, commercially grown British cut flowers dominated the UK market with imports known by traders as ‘exotics’. Today, the opposite is true: today more than 85% of the flowers sold through florists, supermarkets and wholesalers are imported not just from Holland but flown in from growers as far afield as Ecuador, Colombia, Kenya and even Ethiopia. British-grown have become the new exotics.

Flowers from the Farm aims to address this issue and reverse the trend by building awareness of the virtues of locally grown flowers and developing a network of British cut flower growers across the country.

~ Christmas Pop Up ~

Our first pop up event at a local salon in Daventry l’m super excited to be demonstrating at a fabulous salon I have used for a number of years, owned by the lovely Paula & her wonderful team of ladies.

Please join us for an evening of festive fun, I will be demonstrating how to create a table centrepiece using British grown foliages & an array of decorative items & candles.
Ready to place in your home to enjoy over the festive season.

~ DETAILS~
All materials will be supplied to create your table centrepiece & included will be one glass of Prosecco and a mince pie plus other refreshments.

~ PLUS A FREE GODDY BAG, supplied by Secrets.

Our event will take place at a beautiful grade 2 listed building situated on the market square. Spaces will be limited to 15 to ensure everyone enjoys the evening and I can assist everyone if needed.

The 25th is our cut off , this enables me to research what the British growers have available and for me to choose what I would like to include in your boxes .

This month’s box featured some beautiful autumnal colours 🍁,which we will see a lot of in the next few months.
Including some stunning Idaho lilies, alstromeria, dahlias, Cornish Sanderson , eucalyptus and miscanthus grasses for some added texture.

All grown in the 🇬🇧 UK , from growers in Cornwall & spalding in Lincolnshire.

Why we have a cut off date ?

The 25th of each month is our cut off date for you to place your order, whether that’s for a one off order or a subscription.

The reason behind this is so I can ensure I have sufficient time to get in touch with all the lovely growers I use across the UK & select what I would like to include in your lovely boxes for that month. 🇬🇧🌸

At the moment we only have one delivery per month , this may increase as we get more orders .
Once I have all your orders confirmed I can then Select some lovely British blooms , I want to ensure you get the best quality that are freshly picked but also with a personal touch from myself by choosing the colours & flowers.
This also ensures we have no waste and I only order what’s needed. 🌎

If you sign up for 3 months this goes through automatically, but if you would like to subscribe or order a one off box then the last day is the 25th. 🫶🏻

~About me ~

With the first of our boxes heading out tommorow I thought now would be a good time to introduce myself for those who don't know me.

Hi l'm Laura,
In summer 2023 | became a mum to twin boys George & Harry. 💙💙The reason behind The British Flower Box, during my time on maternity leave in between the sleepless nights & hourly feeds I found myself thinking a lot about the world our sons will grow up into and wanted to to try and create something for like minded people to enjoy at home but also help look after our planet for future generations.
With lots of deliberation my husband gave me the confidence to get things started.❤️

I knew I wanted a design & brand with lots of lovely hand drawn flowers & all our packaging to be recyclable or reusable, ♻️& So here we are !!!

Im hoping to introduce some exciting things in the future which could include gift wrap, cards and home fragrance.

I have always had a creative side and Love working with flowers I think it's important to set time aside to do something for yourself and just loose yourself for an hour or so.

Before our twins came along you would usually find me and my husband renovating houses, enjoying walks, meals out & live music.

Nowadays things are abit different luckily our house Reno was mostly finished before the twins arrived and now we just try to make the most of family time and enjoy the evenings together where we can enjoy a glass of wine a good film & of course some chocolate.

I hope you enjoy finding out a little about me and I look forward to seeing your first delivery of flowers in your homes very soon.🌸
