Last night I was a reserve for our Dawlish Bowling Club's home match against Torbay. I took my trusty Pentax K1ii with me and was able to photograph the match and the remarkable evening light towards the end of proceedings. It was getting pretty dark by the end of the last end played! These are .jpg images which I have edited lightly in the Apple Photo app.

The view from outside our home looking east towards Exmouth across the Exe estuary. Love the colour in the foliage of the young tree just down the hill. Some welcome spring sunshine earlier this afternoon.

Before the mayhem starts my FHB Rachel and I would like to wish all our family and friends a happy and healthy 2024. We feel very blessed to have you in our lives.

May I just point out to the women who keep "following" me that I am 72 years old, a tad overweight and blissfully happy in my marriage. Go and flutter your AI generated eyelashes at someone who might even have a glimmer of interest in you, thus saving me the tedious task of blocking you. And shame on Meta for allowing this nonsense to go on unchecked. Get a grip Mr Zuckerberg.

Fisherman near the Cary Arms Babbacombe yesterday late afternoon. The scene called for a monochrome picture. This is a jpg straight from camera, for those who care!

Sunrise as seen from Kelly Towers this morning. Hard to do the light full justice but this gives an idea. The great thing about autumn is that lazy photographers like me don't have to leap out of bed at some ungodly hour to see the light show. This was about 0720 this morning.

On our last day in Schladming we took the Planai cable car to the top of the mountain, walking 5 miles on the trails up there. We found these double width recliners on which to take a rest from all that leg work! Given that 12 months before I was totally immobilised and having to sleep in a single bed in the lounge it was particularly gratifying to realise how much I have progressed. 🇦🇹

Now that we are safely home very happy to share some pictures of our recent European road trip. Here is my FHB in our brilliant Mini Convertible JCW as we ascended what may be the most spectacular road in Western Europe, the Grosglockner High Alpine Pass. You pay a €40 toll for the privilege but it is worth every penny! 🇦🇹

One of four "scissor" arches in Wells Cathedral. They were inserted after the construction was completed to prevent the whole structure sinking into the swampy ground.. I am in awe of the ability of medieval engineers to devise and retrofit these things.

The beauty of a sunflower' centre caught this morning. I love the swirl of the seeds in the centre. It looks as if it was designed on a Spirograph. The close up capability of this lens always impresses me.
