✨Wow, what a year it has been at The Bridal Boutique of Jules! As we wrap up our tenth birthday year, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support we have had from our brides, visitors, cheerleaders, and peers. You have been with us through every twist, turn, and triumph, and it means the world to us.

This year has been one for the books—personally and professionally. From having to say goodbye to all of our amazing staff 😭, celebrating our tenth birthday, having to cancel our wonderful tenth birthday party that I have had up my sleeve for literally years, lots of amazing location photoshoots, wonderful wedding showcases, undergoing major surgery (and bouncing back!) being awarded the South East’s Best Bridal Boutique, to adding underwear, bridesmaid and prom dresses to our collections, and of course launching and welcoming our brand new sister company into the world with my fabulous new business partner and friend Laura from . A fashion show, several buying trips, the pleasure of introducing as our stunning new designer, navigated the challenges of scaffolding (yes, again!), had ideas borrowed 🙄 (because originality always shines through), purchased a new property, and most importantly, continued to make dress dreams come true for so many beautiful brides. (Annnd of course all of the other things that I can’t remember as I am very nearly and officially (on Saturday) middle aged!!!! 👵🏻🙈😭)

✨It has certainly been a wonderful and emotional whirlwind.✨

So my heart and thanks go out to every single one of you who has supported us, cheered us on, and believed in what we do - you are the heart of everything at The Bridal Boutique of Jules and I am forever grateful. Beautiful words from the one and only our Miss Great Britain wearing one of our beautiful dresses ❤️🤍💙

‘And just like that 12 months has flown by. Tonight I will handover the title that I worked towards for 5 years, a title that only 77 other women have ever held and a title I will forever hold close to my heart.

To put into words what Miss Great Britain means to me is virtually impossible, and to be able to that say I am the first ever mixed-race winner is something I could have only dreamed of when I was a little girl.

I read something recently that said, “enjoy the process of becoming,” and I can’t lie, winning this crown was certainly a process, however I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every second, not just of this year as Miss Great Britain, but the five years I spent working to get here. Winning this title on this stage last year was the best night of my life, and although I knew my year as Miss GB was going to be amazing, I was in no way prepared for what the next 12 months would bring.

The version of me that took this crown 12 months ago is very different from the woman that stands before you today. This year has been an absolute whirlwind, but it’s also no secret that personally, it has been a little difficult. Without this crown, without this system, my loved ones, and all of you who have supported me, I don’t know how well I would have fared. This year, I met the most broken version of me but, in turn, ended up building an even better and stronger version, I will never forget the people along the way who stood by me while I did that.

So I hope that my journey and my story will inspire you to never give up on your dreams and goals. Remember, we might not get what we dream of when we think we want it, but I think I’m a testament to the fact that we get it when we’re 100% ready to. So if tonight is not your night, don’t worry it will come; just keep believing in yourself!

It took me five years to win this crown, and in truth, I’m not too sure who I am yet without it, but for now, I am Madeleine Wahdan, your very proud and very thankful Miss Great Britain 2023/24.’
