Fantastic night tonight for our charity quiz night.
Massive thank you to everyone that came and joined in with the fun and donated.

We raised £305 for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Royal Derby Hospital.

Roll on Saturday when we have out Christmas craft fayre raising even more for the fantastic charity.

Great news!! We are pleased to announce that we have had our Community Public Access Defib (CPAD) installed and registered on the circuit.
This life saving device is now accessible in the event of an emergency.
A massive thank you to everyone that help to fundraise / donate towards this.
We received half the funding through London Hearts government grant scheme and she matched the rest.

Early defibrillation is a critical intervention that can make the difference between life and death. When it comes to sudden cardiac arrest.

Studies have shown that early defibrillation significantly increases the chances of survival from sudden cardiac arrest. When administered within the first few minutes, survival rates can be as high as 70%.

What are CPADs?

CPADs are cabinets located on the outside wall of a building so that the AED inside can be accessible 24/7 to anyone in the vicinity who requires it. It means more people could benefit from the presence of your device and more lives could be saved.

The cabinets have a key code lock and the code is accessed by calling 999 which means the device re-mains secure and also ensures professional help is arranged.

Do we need training to use an AED?

We appreciate that this is often a concern but the current stance in the UK is that you do not need training to use an AED. The Resuscitation Council (UK) along with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) have produced a guide to AEDs which should help with any questions you may have.

If you are interested in learning how to use an AED, please keep an eye out on here, our local Community First Responder Scheme will be organising so demonstration sessions. All of our staff will also be trained.
